As for the shockwave the V2 has a Helmholtz resonator chamber by the exhaust exit to tone down the sound. It has absolutely no drone and it will be the better choice vs. say the V1. If you buy brand new i think all they sell is V2. Though don't quote me on that i may be wrong.

Spot the difference?
You know, i was wondering what that chamber was all about. From all of the videos i saw on youtue, it almost looked like an extra exhaust tip that just didn't come out as far as the main tip does. So, just to be sure, that chamber is sealed... right? lol

Its a side branch resonator. It only has one inlet/outlet point where it is welded.

They work excellent for notching out drone but letting all other frequencies pass through. And this is how it achieves the exotic sound.

I generally recommend the Iso Thermal unless you live in an area where it gets really cold. In that case I recommend the Copper Iso Thermal.

Your modification madness has officially started! Right on!

There are all kinds of things you can do to the Z. (visual and functional)

So, just how much louder than stock is the latest Motordyne exhaust system?

Hmm, a couple of things...

1) I assume that's a full ART -> XYZ w/straight pipe -> Shockwave?

2) I don't supposed during your testing you ever did any db tests?

As i've written in many other threads you've posted in, my intention is to get the ART pipes and the XYZ, but with the HFC.

Obviously that would quieten it down a bit compared to the above, but as much as i would love the power and exotic tuning you give your systems, i'm not sure if 2.5 times the noise level wouldn't be too much

Hey guys I know this is a silly question, but please help me out. On the 1st page, looking at the 2 lower collectors, what is the "L" shaped tube coming out of the lower collector? Does it connect to the PCV? Also which of the 2 collectors is the one you want? I have one that looks like the 1st (left) one. Which flows better I guess is what I am asking. Thanks sincerely.

The pipe i think you're referring to is the PCV system. You want the MREV2 lower plenum.

This is confirmed I just put the Mrev2 and 5/16 spacer on a little over a week ago and the gains are amazing! For sure noticeable to anyone mid range (assuming all around better after a tune.) But the first thing I noticed was how much more responsive my car was after the install, it's the best mod I've done to my car.

By the way I have an 06 Z as well.

So it looks like the Mrev2 is based off the non rev up collector? so I'm assuming on the revup the longer snout on the collectors is ideal ad with some port and polish even better.

thanks for the pics, I hadn't been able to find a good comparison pic of the rev vs nonrev.

also Looked today (feb 11th 2012) on motordyne's site and no listing for the Mrev2 anymore?

Yeah, you're right, it's not on the main site, still showing on the new site http://www.motordyneusa.com/index.ph...mart&Itemid=13
But not sure if it's still available?
