I have an 04 Z. Right now I have berk test pipes on it with stock exhaust. soon I'm gonna order a aftermarket y pipe. prob the topspeed one it's only $150. and I'm getting my exhaust last, probably the tanabe concept g (not true dual). I just wanted to make sure everything will fit right. I'm a newbie when it comes to cars kinda. I'm not sure help would be nice. I don't want to spend $150 and it not line up right or something like that.
Thanks

You are correct in your expectations.. you will not be let down.

that Y pipe is a complete POS - very small piping, very chincy flex joints and the flanges lining up are hit or miss. I've tried a version of it on my own car - you don't want it
there are several very good Y pipe choices out there. Tanabe's is really nice. A bit expensive, but fit and finish are top notch. AAM's is a really nice piece too, and very affordable. Then you've got the more expensive/modular one like Motordyne

an axle back only would replace the rear most muffler section and leave all other OE piping intact

Stillen's may very well be a nice piece. Can't say I've ever used it, so I can't comment on it
Headers - you should care, because they are not an easy part to design correctly, and not an easy part to install. The ones that I would suggest will vary depending on the rest of the setup, but all else being equal, I wouldn't bother doing headers on a bolt on equipped 04. I'd wait till you have the rest of the mods to necessitate them, and maximize their benefits

Any brand that makes knock off will have poor fitment. I ordered an m2 exhaust once it didnt even have the hangers in the correct place. I dont mind because I just needed it for a project. I replaced every resonator with magnaflow piece lol
