Espelir JGT500 Exhaust with Pics
Installed today...prototype set cat-back Espelir JGT500 exhaust. Minor fitment adjustments have to be made for production. The mufflers are not perfectly symmetrical on this set but will be for production. 70mm b-pipe, 60mm pipe to mufflers. Gains should be good for 3-5whp...realistic gains. First prototype set was JDM JGT500 exhaust which had fitment differences with JDM Z's and performance gains were not realized so Espelir re-engineered most portions over the past 6 months to ensure quality and performance including a visit to the states by one of their project team lead engineers. Sound is beefy...more noticeable in the car. On the outside, everyone said the car sounded deeper though not obnoxious. I will provide a video sound clip on Thursday. Pricing will be competitive with exhausts from APEX'i, Greddy, etc.
I prefer straight-back mufflers but I kind of like these in a JDM sort of way for some reason.
More Espelir Info
Sorry this one is grainy...the flash was directed at the license plate.

Finish is excellent...stainless steel canisters. The pipe bends are as expected smooth mandrel bent fully stainless. Welds are clean as well...to use the adage like stacks of dimes on their sides. I will take closer pics in daylight. The quality is on par with my previous experiences with Greddy/Trust, HKS, A'PEXi and Tanabe.
This is not a true dual design...single 70mm b-pipe with a center resonator. There may be a couple of reasons for the single pipe...performance gains versus price is most likely an issue. The mufflers are splayed outwards to minimize the angle of pipe bends thus minimizing restriction...i know there was at least one prototype with mufflers that sat straight.
Maybe this has been discussed before...none of the Japanese companies have been able to make any gains using JDM performance bolt-on parts on USDM Z's, more often than not a loss has been realized. Rumor is that USDM developed parts are in high demand in Japan. The good thing for us is that many of these companies have to redevelop and re-engineer parts for us with tangible gains.
Jeff (Zland)...sometimes it's just timing, other times it's who you know.

Here's a first try at a sound clip/video. Sorry but it was windy outside and not much room. Going to do a larger better version some time next week.
