Doing test pipes on my G coupe were a pain as well!!! Took me three separate tries to get it done!

Long breaker bar. I found a 3 ft break bar and it took less than an hour. Also put some anti seize on the bolts for easy removal next time.

WD40 or PB + Oxy-Fuel blowtorch + Hammer


Spray it, burn it, hammer the bolt. Repeat = profit

Hey did you ever find a solution to the rattle noise you had on your z? I am having the same problem with my g35 and I think one of my test pipes might be a little loose, which could cause a leak followed by a miss fire.
