I do understand that. That's why I did some basic calculations to determine if the mods sent me in the right direction. But the answers I have been informed with is what I needed.. A TUNE. However, now it seems to be somewhat of a different situation now that everyone thinks Cobb is ****. Despite all the opinions, I own the unit and now need to get the best tune I can. I truely to appreciate the inputs and opinions, whether I like them or not. But I am now in-need of some input on the tunning portion. Example: is there anything that I need to pay attention to when getting tuned? Anything I should do prior to the tune? I did send Cobb a PM about the lack of support issue. I am waiting to hear back from them.. Hopefully I can get some basic maps to hold me over until I can get on the dyno.

And yes I should have done more research.. I got a really killer deal on the unit, so it was a impulse buy.. But I will have a proper dyno tune done.

You are on target with your assessment. You got air what you need is fuel. A tune will be helpful. Unfortunately tuning hardware and software is not my bailiwick.

Will not help.

Components such as the MAF sensor and feedback-loop from the secondary oxygen sensors will fight you tooth and nail. Probability of dropping air:fuel ratio below 14.7:1 is slim. Tuning hardware and software and an experienced tuner will tweak the fuel delivery system to get you where you want to be.

i think its 100% interesting how many ppl posted here who have surely never had a Cobb. And they are mostly 100% dead wrong. ( disclaimer, i didnt read everypost, so if you feel thats not, you, then it probably wasnt you. )

OP, youre NA.. seriously ppl, hes NA.. a full dyno tune system for a guy w bolt on parts? Telling him the CObb is bunk is ridiculous as its not.
Its NA.. i say again.. theres ZERO reason to not use preloaded maps..factory ecu still adjusts its own timing and af etc.. i think its HILARRIOUS how many ppl give advice like its 100% truth and state emphatically when its actually total BS.

Has anyone herrer talked to Cobb about why its discontinued? Or does UTEC suck now too? Both cmpanies directly say the same thing... Osiris kills them becuase its a reflash and theres no hardware to buy and ppl can switch things around easier...... plus Cobb doesnt have the ability to run an FI system car, and now both systems are just not as competetive as the OSiris etc. and CObb simply stopped making it for OUR car and continues to make it for many many others on a profit point issue...thats IT.

OP, your post stating that your mods killed your power is a blinding truth that most other ppl who mod their cars will never admit to. .air mods kill power, stock is better unless you adjust the timNA ing and AF.. and thats what Cobb does, and its VERY cheap, its very easy, you can do it yourself, and is ZERO issue for an NA car running a stock fuel system.. its 20 minute sin your driveway and then an immediate and drastic difference in the power of your car, and it will make you eternally happy you bought it.

why do i say this?

Well i actually had one unlike 90% of the ppl who replied in your thread .

The power differnece between all my mods and how they ran my car like crap.. it was night and day w the stage 2+ maps...back to a torquey monster in comparison ...and it made the CObb the most valued and enjoyed mod i had ever done.
I only ditched it as Im going FI.

Buy one, you will be extremely happy.

Thanks, Your input is appreciated. I am going to install the stage 2+ map and see from there. If I feel like there is a dead spot or something is just not feeling right, I will go get a dyno tune asap.

You should have raced the car stock. Then applied each mod one at a
time. Then raced again after each one. I know it sounds like a neanderthal
tuning system. I really did do it that way. Not on the same day of course.

If what your saying is about uprev osiris tuner. With just the base map they
sent me. I did a reflash, and raised the rev limit 400 rpms. Unbeleivable difference,
at the 1/8 I got 2 tenths of a second faster. When I did my mods it was the short
ram intake that slowed me down.

I kind of did that but on the street. The intake actually made it pull alot better. But the test pipes and cat back is what killed me. Then the Plenum also had negative results. I know this is not installation error or anything, just plain needs a tune.

Can testify that the first change I made was going to HF cats and that killed the low end right off the bat. Everything else you added just exacerbated the condition. Tuning will probably get you back on course but it's always a trade off. I yanked the HFC and went to Motordyne HFC. That was worth every dollar. No loss in low end and all the way up.

I installed the Cobb today, and it feels much better at high rpm. However I have no low end what so ever. I guess I need to get it dynoed asap. And the runner I was going to have it done by no longer deals with Cobb. So now I need to find a shop in or around Milwaukee or Chicago area.

I'm going to see if there is any way to check for updates, even though yes they don't support it anymore.
