Default Quiet down an agency power single

So i have a Agency Power single exhaust with a stillen y-pipe on my 2005 350z. and this thing is LOUD! so loud in fact that my left ear literally hurts from driving it around town for an hour total. im wondering if there are any ways of quieting down this system without using a silencer because they look terrible and without reducing its performance? I dont want to get rid of this exhaust because i love the way the single looks. I am putting a vortech supercharger kit on it in the next two weeks as well if that matter at all.

Supercharging wil increase exhaust volume, turbo will decrease. Turbos act as a muffler, superchargers don't have a hot side that sits in the exhaust stream so they just force more air and make more pressure in the exhaust increasing velocity and volume.

i believe there is no resonator on the mid pipe right? Maybe you should have a shop put in resonators.

Put the stock one back on. Adding mufflers and chopping up a beautiful system is stupid, imo. +1 on the motordyne xyz w/resonator though. It will help, but thats some $$ for probably not enough muffling for your tastes

O god, its already insanely loud. I love the sound though, however later in the night my ears just start rining.

Your probably better off switching exhaust systems. The fact that you have test pipes coupled with the exhaust doesn't help matters any (going by what it says in your signature).

Agency Power is widely known as being one of the loudest exhausts for the 350z. I have yet to hear one in person though.

Wish I could help more, I'm not too knowledgeable on the single outlet exhausts for the Z.

yeah i know. and yeah i have resonated test pipes. i just contacted JE about doing a custom 3" dual strait pipes. im thinking about doing that. i really dont feel like spending the money on it though after just spending so much on a supercharger kit. im thinking about just buying ear plugs

Simple rule, if its too loud you are too old. I was running a 4" dump off my turbo for 3 months and it sounded just nasty. But I kept getting pulled over so it was exhaust time.

You're 20 and it's too loud? What happened to people our age loving a powerful exhaust. Honestly, mine is insane. However, it's all on how I put my foot in it. If I drive conservatively (i.e. not in a hurry) then its manageable and not annoying at all. If I smash it, anyone in a half mile radius will hear me.

That's just my preference...After busted knuckles and cussing enough for a years time to install my exhaust, I better hear that **** and people to be like, uh wow that's crazy.

Again, biggest take away...it's YOUR car. I'd hate to see you chop up the system, but if it ends up being exactly what you needed then you're set!

Haters gonna hate.

Hope you get it sorted out

I had Crawford headers, ART pipes, XYZ with resonator and a silencer in my AP Ti and it was too loud (made great power though) I got rid of it, got a Magnaflow and cutout. Now I have quiet and when I want power an open exhaust.

So you post a thread about your exhaust being too loud...and 2 days later buy headers to add to it. Have fun with your earplugs (i.e. not talking to passengers, listening for emergency vehicles, or listening to your music). You need to re-think your priorities, because right now you don't have any clue what you want.

The argument of wanting the look of the single is fair, and we tried to provide some ideas to quieten it down. Headers are nothing but more sound, including a nice power drop without a re-tune (which I assume you plan to do since you run Osiris).

Your credibility just took a nose dive
