Default Exhaust welding quote

So I emailed a Tuner shop in the area (of which I won't disclose the name) of whom I asked for a quote to cut and weld in a couple resonators into my exhaust. They are 2.5" diamater. They quoted me $200-300? I don't know about you, but is that not quite a bit high?

Is it stainless or aluminum? Most regular muffler shops can't weld either, so to have some one cut up old exhaust tac in resinators, remove to fully tig weld, and re install does not sound crazy.

Too much go to a muffler shop that does performance vehicles. I had something similar done once on a firebird. Old man came out with a sawzall chopped off the cat another
guy welded the new performance cat right on. 30 minutes came out perfect and charged me $60. On my z they installed the entire dual exhaust $90. And the resonated pipes $90.
I know someone will say dont go they work sloppy. These guys are always busy Z cars, vettes and specialize in 4x4. You have to choose right a lot of overcharging going on.
