I've seen pictures of the Espirt, and it does in fact raise the top of the plenum equally. I've talked to Doug at Crawford about this subject. One of his first experiments was to try a tapered gasket. It didn't work. Crawford has run numerious flow tests, and they believe the configuration they have come up with works best for us. From my experiences, I believe him.
