Default New gaskets required on headers?

Hey guys, I recently got my stillen ss headers in the mail for my 06. To my surprise they didnt come with gaskets. My car has 60k on it and I've heard some people just clean and resuse the factory gaskets. Ive also heard that alot of aftermarket gaskets fail. I can order oem gaskets from courtesy parts but theyre big bucks. Is it really necessary?

If I do clean and reuse the gaskets what should I clean them with? Also should i get loctite or something so no bolts back out?

You should always replace gaskets when making a change. Especially if you are doing headers since it is so labor intensive...imagine those failing and having to replace later down the road. OUCH! I thought they were like $10 from RockAuto?

Not sure on loctite.

Felpro is probably the most widely used aftermarket gasket that keeps OEM specs and they are not of cheap quality either. Not used them on the Z, but I have on my Datsun and Toyota projects.Known many others to use Felpro as well with no probs. Replace the gaskets between exhaust to header as well as these get rusty and brittle very easily

Thanks, will do. Also, this will be my first exhaust mod. Anyone know what to expect as far as sound goes on the stock exhaust? I know I wont really feel a power gain because the cats are still on.

Got the gaskets from courtesyparts.. and btw they shipped them the SAME day and I'll get them friday. Best shipping I've ever experienced from a website. and they were a few dollars cheaper than nissan quoted me.

Since theres 60k on the clock I expect to run into more than few tough bolts.
I know for marine applications theres a product corrosionX ($20 a can) that you can spray on something orange with rust and walk away for afew hours and it will be almost totally restored. I use it on my battery terminals and electrical connections works great. Im wondering if it would help with loosening things up or should I just stick with the stuff at autozone?
