Default Injen intake VQ35HR problems

After about 45 days and a noticable decrease in fuel economy, my car threw a CEL and i brought it into the dealership. Well, they've informed me that te intake and my borla's have messed with the ecu and caused it to run lean. Now apparently they have relfashed the ECU but tell me if the problem happens again, ill have to ditch the intakes and go back to OEM. Is there any reports of these causing problems after a ecu flash? Is the increase in fuel consumption part of it?

I'm running the same intake and do not have this problem. I didn't notice any decrease in fuel economy

Did the dealership showed you a list of code your car is throwing to make the CEL to come on? Or is this what they tell you?

Correct me if I'm wrong... I read, it's common that aftermarket intake/exhaust combo will cause your car to run lean but shouldn't cause the CEL to come on. Unless you're running test pipes or high flow cats.

Get the car tune to regulate the air fuel ratio... lean problem solved and CEL gone.

alright will do. the only thing im wondering is if their "tune" is the same as one at a performance shop. apparently this is warranty work so it was free. anything free from the dealership usually means dealership specifications, aka not a "racing" tune.

Tune I'm referring to is a racing tune not from dealership. As R350Z noted get UpRev Osiris tune. UpRev is located in Austin however, are authorize shop in Houston: Engine Logic, Secret Serivce and JTran.

I got a quote from one of the local shop in Houston and they said it should be between $5-700 bux (not cheap). What I've been told: aftermarket tune is one of the best mod you can do for your car. Do a search on Osiris tune for HR and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Hey man,

Im coming up on a month of having my intakes on now, the injen CAI for my 07 HR Z. This morning Ive noticed my little MPG reader in the car has dropped to 21.3, this is down from 22.0, and has slowly dropped down since. I havent laid into the car much at all, but its been super hot here in florida so everyday I have my AC CRANKED! Im assuming that the steady drop is due to AC running every day all day. Luckily enough though I purchased the UpRev tuner package and will be getting it tuned as soon as possible. Just waiting for my art pipes to get in. Damn ground shipping from CA ...
