Post Cat Pipe comparison: CFM flow rates; Stock, RT, Straight

Here is the flow rate chart for TechnoSquare's testing of the three different Cat Pipes available so far.. your Stock Cats, the most popular RT Cat, and for general comparison, a custom mandrel bent test pipes that were made for my car-

Testing was done in 20cm H20
the numbers are 1 = close throttle and 6 being WOT.

clearly the straight pipes are highest flowing. but RT cats are carb legal (right?) well anything is better than stock cats...

Default I am sorry guys....

I hate to sound uninformed but what are the RT cats? What does the RT stand for? and where can I get them? Will they bolt up to my Borla True duels??

Again sorry for the dumbass question!

RT= Random Technology. Also, Random Technology Hi-flo cats is used also but sometimes folks abbreviate. There are alot of vendors on the site that can help you with the purchase of the cats. See the vendor section of the site. They bolt up to your headers and then to your exhaust system. There are a few borla owners who do have the cats on their Z. And no question is a dumb one. You just had enough courage to ask it. Here is their official website. Good luck.link

Great info. Now it does make you wonder how the crawfords and others compare to the RTs. Also, the more turbos we get out on the market, the more these cats are going to have to be able to bolt up to larger exhaust diameters. Should be interesting to see who goes after this market.

I don't think it would do much better then rts by looking at the chart without being just shy of a straight pipe with resonators.

sp, what we would really be wondering is if the lsduniques or crawfords high flow cats are as good as the RTs as far as flow. Be nice if they actually gave us the info, lol. Remember, isduniques cats are a whole lot cheaper.

one question cheston what diameter is your test pipes? mine are 2.5 xerd's rather than the conventional 2.25 everyone else got, so maybe the flow rate will be even greater on these...
