How about checking the private classified section ( https://my350z.com/forum/intake-426/ ) and buy something from another member.
For example:
JWT Popcharger $75: https://my350z.com/forum/intake/5605...-2k-miles.html
Stillen Intake $100: https://my350z.com/forum/intake/5596...r-03-06-a.html

I was looking into the Popcharger, but my friend ended up talking me into just doing it myself. It sounds great how I did it, but I'd feel better knowing its not pulling in all of that hot air. Fail. I end up buying one of these here in the next few weeks.
Thanks for the info and guidance.

No problem, man. Glad you had a good attitude about the feedback. There is a lot of good info on here to be found. God knows I've learned a TON since I started modding my first 350. I look back at my first questions when I joined and face palm.
Same here, and still learning every day
I did it similar and it did work, longer tube to the front of intake hole and round aluminum heat shield. A tube is a tube no matter the label you put on it. Heat soak? Aluminum is a
conductor of? So what happens in 40 degree weather? I also put a upper radiator shield
and an aluminum one underneath. I tried with a stock intake and k and n drop in. Then with
the spectre tube and filter. I got a better 1/8 mile time and gas mileage according to that tiny onboard computer. What can I say, not a popular answer but that is what I got. 90 degree weather.

I have the stock box with the k and n filter in the closet. I originally posted I got a better 1/8 mile this way and better gas mileage. Is it so hard to believe? I was one of the people about a year ago that said this about heat soak. But the opposite would apply in winter. And I was bored.
I could easily get another tube and do that. The air temperature difference is not much if any. The air that Im getting is coming in through the grill and its blocked above and below. And my name is not imo.
lmao @ imo...thats classic

anyone ever figure out exactly how the 350z is able to get sufficient air flow to the intake opening through the tiny gap between the bumper and hood? or is it getting its air supply from somewhere else behind the bumper?
