Default How to patch rotted exhaust (Pic Inside)

Anyone have an idea how to patch this? Muffler shops say they can't put a welder near this kind of metal because it gets too hot and will put holes everywhere.

It actually might be a better idea to buy new exhausts instead, or second hand ones

The only thing you do with rust cancer, is cut that **** off/out. I don't think anyone in there right mind would take it off for sandblasting and prepped for re-welding.

If you can't afford a new/used exhaust. Then just cut that section off, and straight pipe it. The magnaflow mod is another option I think.

Just cut it off though, yuck

Thats what I wanted to do but the muffler shops are saying they can't put a welder near there because of the type of metal it will just melt everything off.

The right muffler shop can take care of that. Like said-cut rusted part off and weld new one if u don't have the dough to get a new exhaust. Pretty much it.

Those resonators cannot be salvaged. They will have to be cut out and new ones welded in place.

If it is a real Bassani exhaust it would have had a lifetime warranty, if you hadnt slathered all that crud on it.

Do you live in a pineapple under the sea to have that much rot on a ss exhaust?
