Megan Test pipes & Y-pipe leaking
Well I have a 2006 350Z rev up and have this on-going problem with my test pipes and y pipe and could really use some help if anyone has had this problem before or has any suggestions.
A few years back I put Megan test pipes and y pipe on. Since then I have replaced them many times because either the flex pipes leak, welds come undone, or the test pipes crack. Time after time I have had them rewelded and then had the test pipes gutted but to no avail. Finally when we thought it was because of the restrictive OEM mid pipe and muffler causing back pressure to building up, I put the rest of the Megan cat back on. So now from the test pipes back are all Megan.
This fix lasted a few months before the problem returned and the welds and flex pipes went out again. Well now I am getting real tired of driving my Z around that sounds like crap but don't know if i should just go back to stock or try something new. With cost being a issue too. Just don't want to spend a bunch of money on a better system and have the same result.
It has burned some oil in the past so maybe it's causing it to run rich putting off alot of exhaust gases? It just hasn't been the same since I upgraded from stock. Help?
