HKS exhaust help!

My numbers are in reply to your numbers.

2. Can I see some proof that in fact there was no engineering behind it?

1. My fitment was proper? And besides the fact, all replica pieces are test fitted on the car before sale. (Yes I know this is most likely bullsh*t they tell people, but if you call them and say it's improper fitment you send it back and they send you a new one with proper fitment)

3. Yes, due to the H-pipe. Once that is replaced it's fixed

5. Mine has been on my car for about 10k miles now, it's dirty, but no rust. + however many miles the previous owner had on it
Again, I never said it was better off the bat. Unchanged replica < Real, Altered replica >= real (This is based solely on sound. Performance is hardly a gain on any exhaust so that doesn't get put into the equation)
If both the real and replica cost $200? Real of course (but that question has so many paradox's it's not even funny lol) because it ensures 100% satisfaction.
As for your spoiler, now that is a completely different outlook because replica spoliers (or any body part for that matter) use a completely different material. It's not as strong, which is why it's cheaper. The reason a real evo-r blitz spoiler is more expansive because it has tougher and more expansive material. Replica body parts are based only on looks. You want it to perform anything like it's supposed to you gotta get a real one.
Exhausts however are sheet metal. Sheet metal isn't that expansive, hence why you're paying for the name.

They key word in your statement is "they" because like I said in my post I'm sure "they" have never heard the real deal. Your beating a dead horse. Here's a example: let's say a 04 Z is for sale has name brand everything ARC, HKS, Greddy, Cusco, whatever. Another 04 is for sale with about the same mileage, has the same mods but in Godspeed, Megan, race land, those types.
Would you rather buy a car with Godspeed and Megan arms, or one with SPL arms and SPL bushings... When I look at a car and see that they cheaped out on important things like that it just makes me think to myself; I bet this guy dogs this car to the ground or just doesn't care about his own car.
I've come to notice this. Most who buy knock offs there car was bought by mom and dad or family. The ones who bought and paid for there car themselves usually buy the name brand things, and take great care of there cars. You can argue this all day. But to say that a name brand is the same as a knock off just isn't true. Have you held a SPL arm next to a Megan... Obviously not the quality is so far apart.

As for the cars, I would never buy any modded car; doesn't matter what brand name they have in there. First reason because I want to mod it the way I want it. Second reason is who knows how they drove their cars when it was modded. I drive my car aggressively because I know I'm keeping it until the engine blows, then I'm doing an ls3 or ls6 swap. Who knows what they did to their modded cars or how much longer it will last.
So if you want to buy a modded car, brand name or not good for you. It's not my thing, so I won't answer that second portion either.
Also you are taking me saying ALL replicas for ALL car parts. NO. I'm saying for exhaust. I would never buy replica suspension.

My parents helped me because I was short a few thousand, but I've been paying them back and I cannot justify to myself paying $2000 for an exhaust when I can pay $260 for one brand new and another $140 fixing it to sound clean. Exhaust gains are pretty pointless, we all know that. You purchase exhaust for sound. I love the sound of HKS don't get me wrong and I hate the sound of the replica HKS. But once you replace that H-Pipe, IN MY OPINION, it sounds better than the real deal. Your opinion can be different, biased or not, but that's you. Really doesn't affect me at all, I'm happy with the sound and that's all that really matters

My car wasn't bought by my parents... I purchased it, almost done paying them back. It's a loan, but better; no interest rates.

I understand what you're saying, you're throwing my words out of context. I'm saying replica exhausts are pretty much the same thing. You took that as EVERYTHING replica are exactly the same

So your parents lent you a few thousand dollars and put everything in your name? If that's true that is REALLY nice of them. It just doesn't make sense to me though. For them to dish out that kind of money yet don't put the Z under there name for insurance.
