Default Magnaflow 16784 installed 07 roadster - horrible drone

Hello, first time owner here. Just received my 2007 350z roadster Touring two weeks ago.

Last Saturday, I had a local muffler shop order and install magnaflow 16784 (catback system) on my 07 roadster. Looks great and sounded great but from the cabin, immediately after leaving the muffler shop, there was just a horrible drone that nearly got me deaf. I returned immediately to the shop and the mechanic told me to give it a week for the carbon to build up on the muffler and it should quiet down. I did have him drive with me to show him what I was hearing. Not knowing what exhaust drones are until I conducted more researched on it, I told him that I'll give it a week but I also told him that to me this is just undrivable without putting earplugs. I get this drone which starts from about 1800 and tapers down as you reach above 2600 rpm and then again about 3800rpm. I find it so bad that driving it now, I need to make sure that I downshift to keep the rpm to within 3000 to have a quiet cruising ride. At 3800, it starts again but I think if I recall, goes away after 4100rpm. Now, I also asked the mechanic if there was a possibility of an exhaust leak and he mentioned that it's just all new and that he checked that before he gave the car back to me. Anyhow, anyone here experience this? I like the look of this exhaust and how it sounds from outside. But in the cabin while driving it, it is really driving me nuts. I read somewhere that putting sound deadening material such as dynamat or hushmat will help (significantly??) but before I invest on this route, I need to make sure I'm not just throwing money on something that will not solve this problem. Also, for those who may have had similar experience, what did you end up doing to solve it? Thanks.

I have made a couple custom exhausts for my Z, and friends Z's, and noticed that un resonated exhaust systems usually have some sort of drone. Coupled with test pipes, and you'll have more drone. Vibrant performance sells ultra quiet resonators, they make the world of difference as far as drone goes. I have a Full 3" Megan drift Spec, with test pipes, and it is really loud and drones like a B****. I put the Ultra Quiet Resonator in, and it had no drone, but it wasn't what I was looking for, so I took it out. It screams, wakes the dead, scares people, But I love it..
