Default ? on S-tune, Berks HFC, MD XYZ w/ resonator

I just ordered the Nismo S-tune exhaust because the stock exhaust is falling to pieces. I wanted to keep the original sound of the VQ because it sounds amazing. I have been debating on getting the berks and new y pipe and just put it all on at once but I'm still on the fence. Was hoping I could get some feedback on people who have had, or currently ran this set up on the sound, loudness, reliability, and if they felt the extra power. I've found maybe two people in the forums saying they ran it but that is all they said, no specifics or anything.

Good luck finding a clip with this set up. The resonator changes the tone a bit. I have it now with ART pipes and Tanabe exhaust. I have to switch back to Berk HFC's and the resonated XYZ-pipe which I previously didnt have installed.

It sounds like it would be a great set-up there, and the resonator will reduce the raspiness of the HFC's or should in theory.

I'm interested in finding clips, but I haven't found any.

Yea same here. I've found clips with either one or two of the pieces of the set up. Was hoping some people could give some feedback.

I have strup headers, altered atmosphere high flow (metallic) cat.s, motordyne xyz pipe with resonator finished off by a Nismo S-tune. I built this set-up because I wanted as much power as possible while maintaining the notorious Z sound.
Pre resonated xyz: great sound except 3-4k when the rasp was embarrassing.
Post resonated xyz: still great sounding but a little more mellow and refined now. The rasp isn't gone but diminished by 34-45% (rasp is tolerable now).

My Z still couldn't be confused for anything but a Z (even if heard and not seen), but the exhaust note is a noticeable amount deeper then stock with an aggressive tone.

I will be getting rid of the AAM hfc's soon to go with the motordyne ART pipes. The main reason is to gain more power but also to (believe it or not) wash out some more of that rasp. From the research I've done and the sound clips I've listened to it seems that people who went from HFC's to Motordyne ART pipes cleaned up the sound of the rasp even more and considering the r&d that goes into motordyne products: I'm a believer.

Stillen 304 Headers, 200 cell CNT HFC, 200 cell XYZ Y-pipe, Nismo S-tune = rasp when cold, otherwise pretty much louder version of stock exhaust. It took me some time to get it right but im glad the $2350 in exhaust parts (less install) finally sound right.

car also made a few extra hp w/ tune. Something like 297/262? but those numbers mean nothing really since the car is a fatty.

Why not stick with the S-Tune y-pipe? Berk HFCs and S-Tune catback sounds awesome.

S-tune ypipe are known to crack HFC and even stock cats. S-Tune y pipe also doesn't have built in resonator or additional HFC.

I have only heard that S-Tune y are known to crack test pipes, as HFC and stock cats have flex pipes.

You heard wrong much like all the other bs on this forum.

Google for a pix of a stock cat and show me the flex joint. Then google for HFC and show me a flex joint.

I have a s tune pipe and it cracked my stock cats and hfc. If you search there is a thread on how I figured that out from fixing my P0420/P2A03/P2A00 .

And if you thought the rear narrow band O2 sensor only affects emissions, you are also dead wrong. It affects your long term trim as well. In other words, nofoulers don't really work. They just mask the problem.

I've had my s-tune for almost 3 years now with not 1 issue with the y-pipe or cats.

My current setup:
Berk test pipes
XYZ y pipe with resonator
Momentum single 3inch
Is not as raspy as I thought it will be, Z is getting install momentum headers at the moment will see how that changes the sound.
