Default HKS exhaust. REPLICA?

hey guys, i bought an 03 350z about a year ago. the previous owner said that the exhaust was an authentic HKS exhaust kit. all i have is his word to go off of and thats not quite good enough for me. can anyone help distinguish the difference of an HKS exhaust kit and a replica?

Generally if you post some pics, it'll be a lot easier for us to tell
There's a thread on it somewhere but just off the top of my head
the 2 top canister things have different welds between the genuine and replica, can't remember which though.
Also the replica tips will not have as much of a burnt titanium blue as the genuine

Does it say HKS on it? If not, no.

Copy and paste the "IMG" code, it's on the right side of the image.

Im not saying its fake, but if I had to take a wild guess Id say it is. Those welds arent all that pretty.

Fake exhausts arent that bad. As long as its mandrel bent piping youll be alright.

It's hard to say for sure but looking at a ton of new exhaust systems over the last two weeks IMO it's fake.

That's a fake, canisters are not welded like the HKS and the tips are brownish not blue.

I was pretty sure it was a replica but wanted others opinions just to make sure. It wouldn't really bother me that it's a fake but the exhaust is too obnoxiously loud and it rasps and pops. Now that I know what my exhaust is, I want to sell or trade it to get a different setup. Thanks again for your help and sorry about the noobish screwups haha

I made the mistake of letting people talk me into the HKS knockoff. I agree that it's obnoxious and droney and after wasting money on putting the Magnaflow x-pipe in it, I got rid of it. Now I have the Invidia Gemini system and it sounds really good, not obnoxious at all. Not sure what you're looking for in exhaust, though.

As a side note, looks like your differential bushing is popped (not surprising). If you're looking for a day long project, you can look into doing Whiteline differential bushings. There is a How-To for it.
