Default Just got fired from job, so i bought an exhaust and..

summer is about to start, and I just got fired from my job, so I figured it would be a good time to spend a couple hundred dollars on an exhaust.

despite the endless research on what the "best" exhaust to get is, there are way too fking many to count, so it doesn't even matter.

inb4 "your exhaust ain't **** unless you paid $1000 to have the letters HKS engraved on it" my budget is $500 max, until I can find a job, so.....
Here is what I ended up ordering. Your thoughts? Anyone personally know anyone that has this? It already has +172 sold, I figured that means something *shrug*

I currently have stock everything besides my JWT-PC, and i'm just looking to sound a bit more aggresive.
if you are opposed to be buying this ebay exhaust, or If you have any other suggestions (that would fit my budget of $500) that would make my car sound more aggressive than the stock exhaust, the help would be appreciated. or.... if you know this e-bay exhaust isn't a total piece of junk, and it will actually be a good purchase for the money, let me know that too.

thanks for the help guys,

thanks a lot goroo.

i browse the marketplace daily, but i honestly don't even know what i am looking at anymore. plus, every exhaust on the forum marketplace is well out of my price range.

atleast i can feel somewhat relieved that other people have purchased this exhaust too. thanks for your input I appreciate it

After hearing how bad that exhaust sounds on many cars due to the h pipe they put on it I went with a Nismo replica Spyder exhaust. I had a y pipe and HFCs however.

^This. It should go, find job, then spend money on exhaust. And, this may surprise you but, once you find a job you'll be able to spend more on an exhaust that actually sounds good.

You should save your money until you can buy something you'll be happy with. If you dont, you'll end up waiting twice as long for your satisfaction, and have spent more money than necessary.

And, in my opinion, the Agency Power sounds really nice, and is only about $200 more than you want to spend. Whatever you choose I wish you luck OP.

Priorities are little f'd huh? I would be saving that money knowing the job market out there. Also I'm gonna say it, I hate seeing all these people that think spending money on quality products is stupid because you just want the name. You pay money for a quality product with quality design/research and development. Buying knock off garbage is worse and only promotes more grey market goods with shady vendors that are in and out of the industry after running away with customer's money.

Duh Dum dumb duh DUMBBBBB...

Very next thread, I am selling my car with Brand New HKS exhaust. I lost my job can need the money to survive!

Come buy my Z It's super clean and blah blah blah.

No job means you either have rich parents to take care of you or really don't get that economics means you have money to get stuff. If "cash ain't a thang" then buy quality parts.

Granted my exhaust was under $500 but it is just a 4" piece of straight Pipe with some race mufflers and we made it ourselves. Function over form is my motto.

If you can't afford a quality dual exhaust, go with a single. I prefer singles anyways

Can't go wrong with Agency Power. Trust me

I would worry about sound.

eBay exhausts are pretty good IMHO. Theyre cheap as hell and offer stainless steel and mandrel bent piping with near perfect fitment.
I installed one into my brothers S2000 last year and it looked and sounded great.

First, I echo the don't go spending money just after losing a job...that's just a terrible idea. Yes it will feel like a win for a few days/weeks but if ish hits the fan...$500 is a lot of food or maybe rent *shrug*

Second, if you don't care about H-K-S'n etc...try and find a quality muffler specialist I have built a few exhausts with a local guy who gives a "sound guarantee" on his installs it has worked perfectly...if it sounds raspy or just not right in anyway, he redoes it at his expense until I like it (he hasn't had to redo any yet as he has hit the note everytime) Each of these cat back exhausts has cost around $300 usually using Magnaflow mufflers and custome piping

I would personally find a job before I spend money on a exhaust but at the end of the day it's not my problem .

When I was 16 I had a Honda del sol and the exhaust rusted out so I bought a 100 dollar eBay catback because I was a broke *** kid , it didn't sound bad and it was full stainless steal ( had it welded on and the welder said it was stainless ) anyways I had it for years without any problems . The welds are not going to break off

Just my two cent

you sound a little young if you dont mind me saying. we have all been through tough times. i dont want to sound like the devils advocate, but someone needs to tell you, dont buy anything for your car. dont go buy anything fun. buckle down and find a job/career that you can be proud of. if you spend that money now and you end up not finding a job sooner than later, youre going to wish you had the funds. i know you want to sound like a rebel and say "f it! im gonna spend money because i got fired and i deserve to feel good"

hang tough buddy. prioritize your life or you will wake up being 30 living in your moms extra room.

From the bottom of my heart I sincerely appreciate the concern and forewarnings you guys hold for me.

If you guys really want a little more personal information about myself, I am 22, currently attending college, living with my Dad.

No, my Dad did not buy the car for me, I purchased it myself in full.

No, I do not live paycheck to paycheck which is why I can "afford" to be spending money. The key word I guess is, spending it in "moderation".

No, I will not be able to splurge and expunge $1000 on an exhaust and I can understand that. But $300-500? Certainly obtainable.

Yes, I was recently let go at my job, and my reasoning to buy now was more or less a subtle jest or jab of motivation to stay positive, and assume I am going to resume work again very soon. I do have money saved up from working, hence why I am choosing to look to purchase an exhaust right now, but at a $500 caliber budget (no it will not be top of the line I.E. HKS, Greddy, what have you, but I can live without that / can't afford that and I can admit that to myself).

So far, the original ebay exhaust I linked, had more or less positive reviews and falls within my $500 budget. I looked into the Agency Power exhaust, but I would really prefer a dual exhaust. I certainly do appreciate the suggestion though.
Are there any similar, dual exhausts, obtainable for $500?

Thanks guys.

I've heard people saying the exhaust tips turn brown cause they are not real Ti tips and the color fades, if you don't have a problem with that then I guess you already are set on buying it. I would hold out to see if anything good turns up on craigslist or forums, always better buying used name brand than new no name as far as quality and durability.
