Could the JIC people add a spacer to make it fit if there's actually any extra room below the hood? (ie a few washers at each screw/stud)
I vote for no change.

Spacers will cause the bar to hit the hood.

Someone mentioned color molded. What do you think about colors? and what colors would you want? I can really think of a decent color for the piece because it wont match any of the paints. I think if you want a really nice looking plenum, then have it painted as this plastic is paintable.

Go Black. Its the safest, in terms of matching and it will hide all the swirls and marks that indicate an injection molded plastic

Not that I would advise it, but the JIC bar could be made to fit. It is only missing clearance by about 3/16" ....but it will begin to hit the hood slightly.

The hood subframe can be trimmed in small places to clear for the bar, but it is very tricky to perform such an operation.

I think it is better to keep it black and people can paint to match what they want.

^agreed... black plastic would work fine for me, even if it had a rough finish on it...

ideal of course would be a jet black painted w/ clearcoat smooth plastic...

Just match it to the engine cover. Same texture, same color.

I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of this mod..wanted to buy the Crawford plenum (as well as Kinetix resonated catpipes) this week, but I will hold out to see what gains this one makes as well as how it looks.

Props to everyone at Kinetix, hope everything works out as planned! Cheers,

Richard

BTW, what type of plastic are you using for this? I know crawford talked about the top of there plenumn flexing when under hard throttle. This is because they deleted the factory center supports. So whats to keep this plastic plenumn from flexing even more?
If I recall deleting the center supports was required for flow dynamics. Keeping them in place would reduce the possibility that said new design can measure up to the crawford flow rates. I'd want to see the inside of the plastic pleneum.

One more vote to make it work with the stock STB. Forget about the JIC. Also, black is fine IMHO. Let buyers paint it themselves if they like.

Default Fins and colors

Cheb, did you overlook that we are talking about the plastic plenum here?
I agree.
A) Plastic doesn;t conduct well so the fins would be mostly inert.

B) If they did work they would probably warm the intake air, not cool it considering where the intake manifold is.

As for colors, I am also fine with black. Any molded plastic colors I have seen would look wierd. For people who car, painting them won;t be hard.

I think everyone just wants it to be released. Only one support for a JIC capable plenum and its not even a strong support (why get a plenum if its just for show?)

Picture and price range (and dyno ) please
