Need to handbuild gaskets for exhaust, suggestions?
Anyone have some suggestions as to either some materials I can use to hand make some exhaust gaskets or even some aftermarket that are fairly available. Installed an RS-R last night and figure I might as well fix the gaskets on it.
1st option: I lost my invidia gaskets, they sent me a replacement without any charge.
2nd Option: Go to any muffler shop, ask them if they can make you one. They may have something similar
3rd Option : Autozone/Napa/Oreilly

I'll probably just rock some from autozone, never really lost gaskets so wasn't too sure if maybe there was an upgrade I could throw in the mix haha. I refuse to use a muffler shop where I'm at in louisiana. Anytime I called and asked if they can fab me an x pipe, I get, "What kinda car?" A 350Z, "The hell kinda car is that" ok thanks sir *click*
Reminds me of when I went with my friend to an Autozone in Portland.
"Do you have this part for a Honda S2000?"
"A Honda what? What is it?"
"....a 2 seater roadster..."
"Oh, hmmm"

yeah, I was needing a gasket for my 3 inch APS exhaust. Went to 3 exhaust shops and 2 auto parts stores. So I packed it into autozone. I hate autozone. But it is better than dealing with chuck at oreilly auto parts. Guy working there for years was stocking said hold on a second, proceeded to go to the computer and ask what kind of car. I have never seen any stock exhaust made out of 3 inch stainless, lol. I said it didn't matter. Then he asked again, but then proceeded to go to the backto dig in bins, 20 min later we had found one. so i really can not complain.
I hate autozone too, went last night after work. I need 2 exhaust gaskets for a 07 nissan 350z. First got told that they didn't have any, then he was like yeah we do and brought me the wrong size. I was like that's wayyy to big man but thanks. Then he tells me, "Why would you put a smaller exhaust on a truck?" I was like huh, he goes yeah 350 needs open piping man, you gonna choke it if you go mudding....
I was like oh thanks, nothing to see here and left.

The exhaust shop in boise, idaho has different attitude if the car is American
What all these auto parts shops dont realise is that customer service is important and they are losing business to internet shopping.

As far as aftermarket gasket, Vibrant makes the best I've seen. Had them on my S-Tune for maybe 3 years. And, Amazon.com seems to stock most of them, and I try to buy just about everything from Amazon.
