Can anyone tell me if this is a slipping clutch?
From what I've read, symptoms of a slipping clutch can be RPM's sort of...climbing ahead of itself? (for lack of better words) It typically does this on the high way when I'm in 4th gear getting on to an on ramp.
BUT, on a hill, I can let the clutch out to where it catches and won't roll back. So if it isn't a slipping clutch what could it be?
I put this video in the exhaust section because it's an exhaust clip. Thanks

Billyvq, drive along on a flat section of road at 40mph in 4th gear and take careful note of the exact rpm. Now find a hill and accelerate briskly up in 4th gear, when you hit 40mph again take note of the rpm. If the rpm is higher going up the hill, your clutch is slipping.

Are you saying that you are in gear but the car is not moving forward? If so, then yes, your clutch is slipping. Unless your transmission has exploded but I think you would have noticed that already.
You'll notice a slipping clutch more obviously in higher gears. On a flat road at let's say 60mph in 6th, punch the gas and see if the revs jump up quickly while acceleration of the car lags and is slower than usual. Tough to tell from your video because you're in 2nd, and it's also too damn noisy in that underpass. Sometimes you'll see the tach needle jump up, too, and then drop back to a lower point as the clutch slips initially and then catches.

so it looks like i'll be getting my clutch replaced fairly soon.
Definitely. Oh well, it's a normal wear and tear item, just like brake pads, but driving style also has some effect. Still better than having a Z with a 5AT, though. A real sports car need a manual transmission. Might want to think about a slave cylinder, too, as long as your working in that area, as it's not worth the risk of having to take it all apart again when the slave fails later.
