Default GLOWING HEADER SHot

This didnt turn out as cool as it looks in person but what is grey in the picture is actually bright glowing red.
Jsut took this with the lights off in the shop.

They are not altered at all. I highly suggest getting them coated. They have dulled after running them hard for the last part of the year.
You are looking at the drivers side header at about a 2500 RPM idle after about 3 minutes in our shopwiht the lights off. They are glowing bright red. in that first picture.
The other picture is them with the lights on still at idle.
Just imagine what they look like at 6700+ on the track after 3 hours of racing.
These headers were coated from XERD.

ok how necessary is it to coat them for a car that not only does not see the road course but only gets driven about once or twice a month and the longest time it runs at one time is 5 hours on a cruising road trip. also when it is taken out on the weekend it is driven sort of hard (it's a street car) or it is taken to the 1/4 mile and driven 14 seconds at a time. Still highly necessary or am I just asking for trouble in a couple years?

Damn bro, you need to drive that thing some more. With all the goodies you have in it, it deserves some track time

It's a project and when the project is finished it will be utilized. You don't live in a house with no walls (ideally). I don't see any point in driving it more so that I can have the opportunity to break something before I have a chance to do something to it that I want to do. No point in taking it to the track and going off road and wrecking my suspension for no reason when there is a lot of motor work to be done.

Well, my personal view is that it is a work in progress. I'm sure I will never really be "done," so if I wait to be done, I will never get to enjoy it.

Why not? Is someone going to steal your car or do you only have 5 years to live?

Not to mention blowing through 1K dollar tires, etc. Work then play for me. It makes play that much more fun when the time comes. You have more stuff to play with and less worries when things go wrong. You will never finish a project that you continually use. I enjoy my life JUST fine. For me it really is the journey and not the destination. I think building the car up is just as fun as driving it.

That's cool. We have two totally different takes on the same theme...i.e. the journey.
