Default Dustin's Amuse Titanium Exhaust Install @ CIN Motorsports

meant to post this thread last week but ran out of time. last weekend i met up with my good friend dustin in charlotte to attend cars and coffee then head over to CIN Motorsports to get his new Amuse exhaust installed on his Nismo 350z. for those unfamiliar with Amuse, they are one of the premier japanese aftermarket companies and make many cost-no-object parts for various cars. since it was a dyno day, bobby@CIN was gracious enough to let us dyno the car before and after the exhaust. it managed a reasonable 284.4 whp (corrected) as it rolled in the door with only the Nismo CAI kit, Berk HFC's and custom Uprev tune by Jon@Z1 on CIN's Mustang dyno. we proceeded to install the exhaust, do a few quick runs up and down the road to hear what it sounds like then hit the dyno again to see the gains. to everyone's astonishment, the car made 300.7whp without tweaking the tune. that's 16hp gain from exhaust! not to mention it dropped almost 50 lbs off the car. now for the media...

album:

CZC Dyno Day @ CIN Motorsports - 6/1/13 - JPMcG Photography

fav's:

1. the build quality on Amuse products is second to none, it's practically a modern art sculpture

2. removing the factory Nismo catback

3. a few members of the Carolina Z Club showed up to put down their numbers on the dyno

4. Amuse installed!

5. back on the dyno for results!

youtube video i put together with before and after soundclips:

BIG thank you to Chinchi down at Speed For Sale for sourcing the exhaust for Dustin and I can't say enough about the guys over at CIN for being just as eager to see the results as us!

The Amuse exhaust is my favorite. If price is no object, its the one to get.
The only negative I have is the burnt look.I'm probably in the minority.
Just not a fan.

Amazing. Glad to see there are some people still supporting the "good" companies in the industry.

Wow , looks like another company has put the merge point in the Y pipe in the same place as Motordyne. I wonder if they did the R&D on it ?

I'm not even sure what you are saying? Wouldn't all y-pipe's look pretty similar from the outside?

Just FYI, Amuse came before Motordyne. And knowing their reputation, I'm sure there was a bit of R&D involved.

To some the burnt look is the Holy Grail.
The roots of this come from JDM/Fast&Furious sector.
I've wondered why none of the high end supercars, incl Ferrari,Lambo not
to mention the very limited supers like Bugatti,Koenigsegg&Pagani have not
done any burnt tips?Wish Amuse offered rolled tips.

Fixed.

Like you said its not for all consumers so why would they come stock with the burnt look? You gotta pay for that ****

this is why i was so confused, surely everyone knows Amuse has been around long before Motordyne, right?

Seems to have changed in design a bit

What size would you say the individual and merged pipe sections are on that system? The single pipe section looks big while the individual pipe sections look no more than 2.25" to me?

Very nice looking piece though.

I guarantee Amuse isn't copying Motordyne. To be brutally honest, most of the bigger Japanese companies (with the exception of Do Luck) don't care about tuning companies not from Japan, which is evident in why they're so stuck in their ways with antiquated ECU tuning methods etc. I would bet big money that Amuse has never heard of, or cares about Motordyne (no disrespect to Tony@MD). Also, Amuse used to sell separate front pipes for MT and AT DE cars, and I believe that one in your link is the old AT model. The MT's merge design has always looked like the OP's photo, check out this photo from back in 2004/2005:

of note, the exhaust was awfully close to the charcoal canister on the passenger side so we had to wrap it with heat wrap. i'm guessing the non-HR cars have the canister in a different location

I actually have the un burnt amuse exhaust. I love either one but this one popped up for sale on here and I couldn't pass it up. Hands down best sounding exhaust on the z for me. I really want to get my hands on an amuse ypipe to complete the full exhaust. Mine to came really close to evap canister so much I actually had to trim it and reseal it.
