NitroPlate Ceramic Coated Momentum Headers
Just wanted to share that I just got my Momentum Headers back from NitroPlate in Nashville.
I was able to snag these headers for a great price and decided to go ahead and have them ceramic coated to keep heat down in the engine bay. I'd definitely recommend these guys for their quality work and customer service and not to mention their competitive pricing!
This is their bright finish. The ceramic coating is on the outside and inside of the header creating a "thermal barrier" allowing one to touch the header with a bare hand within 7 minutes after full operating temperature. Freaking awesome.
These are going to be paired with Motordyne V3 ART Pipes, Motordyne XYZ pipe w/resonator, and a Momentum Performance Dual exhaust. I do intend to post a video after the install this Saturday. I'm hoping for a very unique sound out of this!
On to the pics!
Excellent packaging in the return shipping

Gorgeous finish!

You can see the interior coating down in the collector here

I'll keep you guys updated!

wow, that does look awesome! had no idea these guys were in my backyard? just sent them an email to get an estimate on plating my upper & lower plenum, plenum spacer, and throttle body. if they can't do the spacer, then I don't think I'm going to get everything plated.
I have no doubt they can do the spacer. That'd be easy. This puppy already has a tune! I already have everything installed and tuned besides the headers and ART pipes. Right now I'm running stock manifolds, test pipes, xyz w/resonator, and the momentum dual. It'll be lean in some parts of the map after the headers I'm sure though. I'm already schedule for a retune in a couple of weeks.
Current setup on the dyno from a few weeks ago at Z1 for your viewing pleasure! This was after I installed my ported & polished plenum.
Dyno sheet. Hoping the headers/ART pipes will give me a nice gain! The plenum work gave a pretty decent gain across the powerband matched with the spacer. I took 5mm off the front 2 runners and cleaned up all of the casting lines as well.

What do you mean here

So is that 7 minutes after and still running or after reaching op temp it was turned off and then waited 7 minutes to touch? Recently i swapped out a set of cracked coated headers for a set of these (Z1) non coated. Not sure on the exhaust skavenging effects of the coating but hood and underhood temps do not appear drastically different. Too bad we both dont have infared temp meter as it would great to get actual data. Time and cost only prevented me from having these coated as well, the coating held up real well after 8 years including winters, i should post a pic of them.
