Well I got kind of busy after my hockey game....drinking beer. So I'll swap it back tomorrow, and do the throttle relearn process first thing.

So ya....ECU can't over come the extra air flow. Tried the relearn several times, drove it around a bit. CEL still came on, but I didn't put it into limp mode. Drove to orielys to know the exact code and yes it is the P0507, the idle air throttle position. So, switching back until I can make the drive to Z1 for a retune.

It was fine driving, just the idle is running so high. And since I'm AT, every time it would downshift when coming to a stop, it would rev real high then drop back low. It blips like that whenever I slow down, and if I'm in say 4th gear cursing around 30mph, the engine just keeps pulling at around 1800-2000 RPMs. They just stay there when I left off the gas. I got on it once just to see how it felt....oh ****, awesome. It makes a nice noise and just seems to rev up faster.

So I think port matching the adapter and plenum neck to 75mm will really make a difference. I'm going to see if my machine guy will cut my plenum as well while he has the adapter. If not, I'll just try to dremel it myself. Speaking of that, gotta finish up smoothing the inside of the plenum.

Well if you get the free time try swapping pin 2 and 4 on your harness adapter, those are the tps. That might fix it for you
1is 5+, 2 is tps output ,3 is motor voltage,4 is tps output 2, 5 is ground, 6 is motor control2

1 2 3
4 5 6 de wiring

1,2,3,4,5,6 2k6 wiring

I've hear off issues where the 2 and 4 are flipped on non oem manufactured tbs though

Did a little research for you boss man
I'll add my experience. I have an 03 with 95,000 Had the same TB code p0507 and idle issues after cleaning out some of the buildup around the TB.. I also got a Knock Sensor code p0327 at the same time. I tried the all three relearn step and the idle would correct but only last for that start. Finally I disconnected the battery and the plug to the throttle body( dont know if it makes a difference), left it unplugged all night. In the morning hooked up the TB and the battery, did the Throttle valve and pedal position learn and started it up. NO SES light so I and went for a drive. After everything was warmed up my idle settled down to 750 and no issues with the idle jumping around and no repeat on the knock sensor code. Its now 3 days and about 60 miles with a number a starts and all looks good. In fact my idle just started to settle into the 650 range which is spot on with the book.

Or the tb you got was bad

I don't know what madness this is but it looks like your gaining peanuts for all this research, time and money..boltons and tune then save until you can turbo or supercharge.

No trying to be Debbie downer what are you honestly going to gain by cramming more air in an already pretty effiecent stock tb? 2hp?

I've gone down the sc route before. I think I'll stay na
Also waldo36 has an over sized intake and a nice setup on his im...so gains on his car would be skewed and it's removing the bottle neck.
Also I have a different intake manifold aswell and plan on using a 3.5" intake. So this would def be the bottle neck for me.
So this isn't for everyone. Thankyou for your input though

Ya I think I'll try it one more time. I forgot about turning my amp off. Had everything else turned off while doing the relearn except that. And I did clean it rather extensively, and pulled the butterfly out too....so I've got a couple things against me. But I'll try it one more with absolutely everything cut off. If that does work, I guess I'll try the battery pull again. And if that doesn't work, I'll just wait for the retune so they can fix it real easy.

I guess I figured the can just reset it from there. Because don't they set the idle from osiris anyway once you get a tune?

why did you take off your supercharger? I don't understand why people would even build these motors unless they plan on running 400hp+all day...I wanna do junkyard motors all my z's life with a conservative tune and 350hp with a vortech and last long.

i lived in washington state, 1st gear was useless...second gear was near useless. it was a v2, and not a v3...and swapping out the sc too the v3 trim woulda cost as much as a whole new kit. i wasnt happy with my tuning hardware.to much throttle on the wrong road was just a side ways z....so i gotta drive it...3 times in 4 months, and i ruined my 3rd gear synchros. had to buy another car to drive around in. then the dog, the cat, the lady all got sick...so either dig into savings or say by too the sc.

and to be honest, the intercooler needs to be replaced to a larger one, you need pulley mods to keep the belt tight, gotta get a bracket to strap the super charger down so it doesnt wobble.impeller needs to be replaced with a 928. i was over 400, and it was the it was "your blocks gona go sometime". so i coulda built the block....and been good to 600+ and thrown bigger fuel pumps and injectors and tapped out at 700? i think some guys hit 650...at that point i shoulda went twin turbo..unless i was just aiming for a certian number.

if i was aiming for a solid 350, id just get a stillen sc and call it a day.

i honestly though loved the vortech so im not bad mouthing it, im just saying if you wanna make real power its gona cost, but if your goal is 400-600ish max then vortechs great.
in my book
stillen 300-400
vortech 400-600
twin turbo 500+

Well, fiddled some today since it was raining. Put my new V+ plenum on and I can tell they changed their moldings to be thicker around the bolt holes. Mine is thinner by about 2mm! But before I did that I tried the TB install one more time. IT WORKS....sort of. I got no CEL after doing everything possible to prevent it. Did every single relearn thing, but the idle was still high, the down shift were still jacked up, and the throttle so dam sensitive. Here's a video of what I mean by how sensitive it is, and how the high idle kept pulling.

So it was raining, and I just kept making laps around my block, that's why I kept turning the wheel. My normal idle is 750-800, and the needle just jumps around like a mother.

Hmmm...it seems like it wants to drop when the aut shifts, try the idle relearn a few times...oh and once it warms up do it some more. The idle relearn is supposed to be done warm, and if it's cold or humid out it can mess with it I learned that the hard way.

You also have a tune and a auto so that might make it more sensative.
