I am getting my new exhaust system this weekend. I have the option of Spin Tech or Borla. Your experiences and thoughts on which of the two are a better choice.

Are you just talking about mufflers? Because I know that Spintech does not make a bolt-on system for the 350Z, while Borla does.

And are you getting a custom mandrel-bent system or just a cheap press-bent exhaust shop job?

 

Reading your comment above, since Spin Tech does not make a complete system, my thoughts go back to my original idea of getting the Borla exhaust system. I definitelly wouldn't go with a cheap press-bent exhaust shop. My baby deserves more. LOL

 

I personally have borla with welded x pipe magnaflow. Car sounds better and feels more alive. Don't expect it to be loud

 

Is there a reason why Borla/Spintech were your only options? Did you narrow it down or just come from a muscle car/offroad background?

 

Definitely go with Borla you wont be disappointed with them. I have the their complete system meaning the Borla Headers and Cat-Back system. Fantastic sound no Rasp, No drone at all and the wife loves it, Cant ask for more. Also speaking of complements of the sound, I took her in for her inspection yesterday the guy who was doing it complimented me on the sound, he gets Infinitis and 350s and 370s all the time, but this sound he loves "its Different". Another one to add to the bag on compliments about her.

 

What's your budget like? And what are your end goals?

 

The Borla on my Mustang GT was installed sometime prior to 2007 and it looks and works perfect. The car only has 39,000 on it but 7 years old is pretty good for a muffler . High quality for aftermarket.

 

1,000,000 mile warranty with Borla, you can't beat that.

 

I've had my Borla TD on for 3 years now and it's been great. I added Berk HFCs because I wanted it a little bit louder. Nice deep rumble at low RPMs and screams real nice above 4k. I get a ton of compliments on the sound.

 

I'm not so sure on Spin Tech, but the Borla is a nice system have had it for 2 years but HFC is a must with it or else it's to low for my taste.

Won't get you tickets and its opens up pretty good.

Doesn't scream look at me!! but its not that quiet either.

I just bought a Motordyne Exhaust hoping to make it a louder which i'm sure it will lol
I'll see weather I like how loud motordyne is once again i'm sure I will lol

 

11 years with the borla and no problems.It used to sound deeper then stock but since i went with the Greddy twins its been kinda quiet the last 7-8 years...lol
