Is the gauge more for show and doesnt really tell you anything? Thats what people say.

I got mine on Monday and it's going on my car today along with an AutoMeter boost gauge!

FairladyZ, the AEM gauge comes with a wideband O2 sensor that is placed above the cats via a bung and is accurate to within a tenth of a point. It supports output/recording via a serial cable. It costs between $400 and $500 dollars depending on who you buy it from. If this gauge is just for show then so is the A/F plot you get when you dyno your car.

the "Autometer" A/F gauge is the one that is you are thinking about.

This AEM gauge is a new design that incorporates all the gizmos for wideband into the little gauge thus not needing an external box like most wideband setups.

GO here for more info. BTW AEM is now a sponsor of this site.

If it is accurate then it would be better than being on the dyno. You get a true reading while the car is under a "load". I am curious to see how it reads compared to the one from the dyno.

The other advantage is that the gauge is closer to the engine so it's theoretically more accurate than a tailpipe reading.

I'm interested on how it mounts, please take some pics... Does this replace the stock sensor, or do they piggy back?

Thanks

I believe it would work best if you tapped a new hole right after your headers and screwed this sensor in. It's not a tough mod to do with a lift, a drill and a tap.

correct...its not meant to piggy back to anything, its a fully standalone unit that require you to drill into your exhaust to install the bung and their probe...easy as installing an EGT gauge.

Mounting is the big problem in this car..its hard to get a clean install done for a single gauge it seems

Way easy to hook up. Just a couple wires (+ -) and a harness to the 0/2 sensor that has a plug on the end. I'll have Jason get some close up pic's. Worst part is making the hole for the 0/2 bung. As far as the pod goes... Here's what we're doing for my car:
