Default 350z exhaust questions/suggestions

Ok I'm sure there's other threads on this but don't have a lot of time to research. I'm a fairly new 03 z owner and I'm looking to do an exhaust system. I would love a borla but that's way out of my price range and the wife gave me a $500-600 budget so my question is are there any decent cat back systems in that range? I don't like the mad bee/rice burner sound and would like something with a deep throaty sound. I've seen a few burnt tip systems on ebay for $4500-450 but I'm not familiar them. Any suggestions or anyone have a good used system in my price range?

stay away from ebay stuff, for your price range there is going to be nothing good. if you can bump it up to about 900 the Invidia Gemini exhaust is nice..... deep sexy go with motordyne art and tdx2 combo, but that is close to 4x your budget

might want to read here, and you should search... this has been asked a million times

For your budget, I would get Berk HFCs and find a used HR y-pipe. Stock exhaust look with nice sound that is not too much. The HR y-pipe is much better than the DE version, and they sell for cheap. HFCs will open things up a bit and give you a nice deep throaty sound.

What's the advantage if the y pipe and if I go w a true du as l system di I still need it? And I am looking to find a full used system but been searching and can't find much. The few decent deals I've come across they want as much for shipping as asking for the exhaust. Also will I need to tune it w an aftermarket exhaust?

The cost of exhausts on these cars is retarded brand new. Go find a used exhaust. I just picked up my Borla from this forum for $500. They pop up pretty frequently. Let someone else take the depreciation hit.

+1 on this. Stock HR y-pipe is a cheap, but definite upgrade over the DE design. These y-pipes are very popular with pre-'07 Z33s and G35s. I went with Crawford hfcs myself before ARTs; with your budget you can't go wrong with top quality hfcs, Y-pipe and anything recommended that you can afford going towards the tips from that point. Good luck with your project.

better flow, the factory y pipe is a choke point, and no you won't need a tune
