I got mine from the dealer when I bought the car - $845 installed. BTW, don't deal with the salesman, go directly to the parts manager and cut a deal with them. The salesman are clueless as to what NISMO is and they're only interested/willing to sell at list price.

I have noticed that after a few thousand miles that there is a nice burble when comeing off the revs. Match that with the pop charger and the engine note is great.

Do your outlet tips seem to point up? I noticed while washing the car that water was pooling in them. They're not horizontal but seem to be up about 5-10°. Is this normal?

is the nismo exhaust the only mod you have? i just want the nismo exahust but i want it to be loud. do i need any other mods or is it loud enough alone

I can tell yah..... nismo exhaust is actually louder than what I expected as well. When you rev the car with the nismo exhaust on, the exhaust rumbles and it is really loud compare to the standard. Also when you are cruising around with higher gear, the exhaust noise level is A LOT louder than the stock I would say, but I love that because it makes the car sounds more powerful. Oh... one more thing.... my nismo exhaust burbles when the rev is coming down from day one when I have it installed... sounds like back firing one after the other...

And if you change the air filter, it will actually make the exhaust sound A LOT better and louder, that's what I noticed when I put the nismo panel filter on about 1 month after I have the exhaust.

cheers,

richie

The POP charger and Nismo intake are completely different with the POP Charger being more of a WAI (Warm Air Intake) with a slight ram effect. The Nismo CAI (Cold Air Intake) has piping that will re-route the intake flower to a colder place on the car (usually the fender). As for warranty it depends. According to the Magnusson-Moss Act of 1976 before a dealer can reject a warranty claim based on aftermarket parts you have put on a car they must be able to prove that the part is waht caused your car to malfunction. That being said. If your Maf blows with an intake trust me they will make you buy one. However if your tranny craps itself and they cannot prove the intake did it (they can't) you are still covered. Heres a pic of my JWT POP Charger..

If You like a nice loud mean exhaust. I do mean loud

The NISMO exhaust and R/T Cats
I have no Raspiness.
Just a Deep Evil pouring from the pipes.hehe

If you need to be quiet stay below 2500 RPM, pass that
and it's all eyes on the Z.

I swear the way my Z sounds most cars that consider F-ing with me dont even bother. Especially those Civic-Rice boys.

R/T means Random Technology Hi-Flo cats. These are replacement catalytic converters. These cats allow for greater air flow than the stock cats.

PS. And echoing Diablo. If you add headers on top of cats and exahust all eyes will be on you all the time.

In the past I would have been partial to the CAI as it usually makes more power. However it seems that the POP charger at least makes as much as the CAIs for the Z so thats why I got the POP charger. Honestly its up to you. Either way your going to make the same amount of power. The only question is how much you choose to spend and what you want it to look like. For me it was POP charger (first time ever I didn't get a CAI)

I don't have a nismo CAI, but instead, I have a nismo dry type air element panel airfilter. You can get that from Performance Nissand and yes... it makes the car sounds better!!! You can feel the car has been freed up with this filter. The throttle response is better. I highly recommand that to everyone!

cheers,

richie

The Nismo exhaust sounds awesome. At idle it's quiet, but once you step on the gas and run thru the gears, the exhaust note is just great!

Hi

My nismo exhaust seems to become quieter than before too, but how would it be possible?

Default Getting used to it............

IMO, I don't believe the Nismo or any exhaust for that matter "gets quieter" as time goes by - I think we just get used to the sound after a while and adapt. I firmly believe my Nismo exhaust / Crawford cats / Crawford headers sound as LOUD today as when they were installed several months & 2000 miles ago. I wouldn't have minded if they did quiet down a little with time, but it ain't gonna happen - ha!

I'd have to agree with you. I've got over 3K miles on it now and it sounds pretty much the same. At times it seems louder, other times it seems quieter. Probably has more to do with getting used to it, environmental conditions and how I'm driving it.

Default Exhausts will get quieter....here's why.....

I drove around some yesterday and it didn't seem as loud except when the engine is under load. I don't mind that but I don't know about the drone at 3000RPMs when driving down the highway. Maybe but the time I have 1000 miles on the car I won't notice or mind at all.
After several hundred miles, there will be a layer of carbon deposited over the interior surface of the exhaust. This mutes the higher frequency sound from the exhaust, thus the sound isn't as "sharp". The effect is a slightly muted sound at cruise, which is desireable, but with the "full effect" still present under full throttle. With respect to the R/T cats...they are apparently the loudest out there.
