Default s tune exhaust

Hi all. I am trying to install my S tune exhaust very difficult because the piping hits the evap canister heat shield. I pulled of the shield and it goes on perfect with lots of room to spare. I'm confused as I thought it was oem fit. Can anyone give me some tips to retain the shield but get the muffler in place without it rubbing?

This is with evap heat shield removed. You can see pass tip sits higher not sure why.

I wonder if the Nismo bumper has anything to do with it. Maybe the EVAP cover is larger or something.

Thanks I'll wrap the lines. Hope it'll suffice. IDK if nismo version is any different. But I tried for an.hour to get it on with the shield on and the piping rested right on the shield so I took it off.

could you cut the shield with tin snips and just bend it some?

Hmm, I took that shield off a long time ago when I first swapped my exhaust and haven't ran it since...good or bad idea? I'm not really sure...

Keep an eye on the evap lines. If they dryrot and crack youll probably throw a code. Probably a long shot but if they ever did leak, thats fuel tank fumes going into the Cannister... Might as well take 10 mins and wrap em.

Id do a layer of regular header wrap then a layer of the thermo-tec reflective on top of that like travlee posted, maybe overboard but itll provide better protection and heat isolation. might help from keeping the lines away from the elements and increasing their longevity a bit, just what id do but either one or the other would be fine.

After playing with the hangers some I went to muffler shop and had them mess with it. They put the shield back on and there is room to avoid the piping. They say the hanger looked Bent causing issue.
