Default Tempted to buy this eBay exhaust system. Feedback?

I came thru this eBay exhaust kit for my 350z and I'm temped to buy it. What would be the cons and pros? Has good reviews and a reasonable price. Doesn't like ricey and looks like a good system for the buck. Please let me know what you think

There are a LOT of HKS replicas out there. Most are decent at best. I have read about a lot of people running the out of the box set up get drone/rasp. I believe the remedy is an "H" pipe or "X" pipe. It's your money, but I would save up for a used exhaust if you're on a budget.

I bought my gently used GReddy Evo 2 ~4 years back ($700-originally $1400+ exhaust) and the only thing I have changed is I welded in straight pipes where the rear resonators were to liven it up. A good quality exhaust is peace of mind that everything you don't see daily is holding up.

Well that's what I was thinking too add couple hundred and get a gently used one but I'm on a budget and I'm looking for something to give me a nice deep sound. I mean would a j pipe or anything like that give me what I want or its best to get and exhaust system?

You can find a borla for 400 used all day long. Injen SeS for about the same. anyof these would be a better option then this. I also hate the way the HKS sounds so im abit biased. I could imagine the nightmares this thing would shoot out the back.

a lot of people run the HKS knock offs and like them.. buy it and let us know.

I'm personally leaning toward ARK

With most after market parts, you get what you pay for.

However, I'm interested in how well this works out for you.

Updates on if you get this. Thanks

Hmmmm, what this thread (and the countless others asking the same thing) confuses me about is "WHY are there so many exhaust systems on the used market in the first place?"

Its cheap, looks good, and will most likely be louder. No, it wont be quality and might take some work to get the fit right but its an exhaust. If its complete crap, your only out 275 bucks.

I wouldn't put it on my car. Any exhaust for a couple hundred bucks brand new is obviously a piece of crap.

Its definitely cheap. The piping might crack under stress or heat. Its probably going to have fitment issues, but it wont cause any issues for the car. If you want an ebay exhaust, go for it. No real reason not to use one. I wouldnt honestly because I could afford the exhaust I wanted brand new.

I bought one of these replicas and I was actually surprised by how it looked. Of course its going to be cheap and not be as strong as premium ones. I was expecting thin Chinese junk with terrible welds. It turned out to be pretty decent. It was only $250 so its not much of a gamble. I haven't put it on yet though, so as long as it doesn't sound like complete crap its worth a shot. I am definitely going to use an X pipe though.

I've purchased Ebay exhaust components in the past for cheaper cars I didn't care about. I bought a header for my SR20 Sentra and it worked fine. The build quality was OK and you could feel it on the butt dyno- but ultimately I didn't really care a whole lot. Just wanted something cheap to free up the exhaust.

That being said, I've watched a ton of Youtube exhaust videos for the 350z because I'm also in the market.

ALL of the Ebay/HKS rep exhausts sound like total **** IMO. They completely get rid of the classic 350Z sound.

If I was going to get a cheap exhaust it would be the DC Sports true dual exhaust w/ single muffler. From what I can tell it sounds pretty good. It might be a little loud for some- but you can always throw some resonators on the X pipe to quiet it down a bit. If you do some searching, people in the past have made mention of how nice the welds look as well. Be prepared to to buy new hardware for it though.

I actually didn't, I ended up gettim 20mm front and 25mm rear spacers and a JWT pop charger kit instead of the exhaust

Can you tell me how it ends up sounding and possibly send me videos?

That actually looks like a good deal. But what's the difference other then looks of single canister muffler and dual exhaust?
