Injen CAI Install Time (Being Ripped Off?)
I don't agree that headers aren't worth it. Grab some HFC's or test pipes and headers. After a tune it will be a new car to you.
I am basing my argument off the fact that changing my headers alone after I was already re-tuned for a y pipe and HFC's gave me over 15HP with a new tune on the same dyno.

My goal from the beginning was 330-340 HP at the crank with only bolt ons and a tune. I started at 287 (DE). I have absolutely no idea how close I am to my goal, but I hope I can reach the goal with the tune.
After the tune I'll be working on suspension and finally an aftermarket flywheel and clutch, but that will be in 2016 since I just got a clutch and flywheel (OEM) in April 2014. That will be it. Nothing extreme. I just want 330 HP crank and 3100 lbs without gas. Spare and jack were removed, cats removed, lighter wheels are in the works for this summer, and suspension next year. That should get me at 3,100 pounds.

remember the number they give you will be wheel hp. if i remember correctly mine hit 286*, and a buddy that had a de with full bolt ons, headers, etc hit 253*
**note, mustang dyno which are known to read a little low, but any dyno can be tweaked to read high or low

From the short research I did just now they use a Dyno Dynamics dyno, which is said to read just lower than a Mustang. One place said a Mustang is about 12% lower than DynoJet, and DD is about 15% lower.
I'd say if you hit around 230-240 whp on the DD at PT Tuning that would be very good.

This might be a good option for you to get your car running right if you dont plan to add any more bolt on parts.http://www.z1motorsports.com/350_g35...oducts_id=3294
Good luck.

only like a week late better then my years old reserection.
I didnt even notice your post I was too in shock about the helpful header comment. And how nice you handled the 14hp claim.
I was actually wondering what happened to you in this one you must have won the lotto last week or something. Op sure did and he didnt even know it.

You'd be extremely lucky to see 285 at the wheels on a full bolt-on, tuned DE. 250-270 is more realistic.
You will NOT break the 300 mark.

For sake of argument, let's say I can't hit 280 WHP with a tune. Your estimate of 250-270 is ridiculous (more so the 250).
I consider myself a reasonable guy. I am confident in my goal and estimation. Once I get tuned I'll post dyno results. Even without a tune yet I notice a nice difference in power. No, I don't think it's at 280 WHP right now, but it may be close. I anticipate buying an aftermarket flywheel even though I just replaced my flywheel last April.
Thanks, all, for the constructive advice. I'll keep you updated.
I'm not sure why you "Lol'd hard" at me aspiring to hit 330 HP crank with bolt ons and a tune. If we assume 15% loss at the wheels then I'm at 244 WHP stock. 330 HP crank is 280 WHP. That's only a difference of 36 WHP. I believe it's completely realistic with intake, plenum spacer, test pipes, aftermarket Y pipe, cat back, and tune. I never mentioned 300 WHP. Even my upper estimate/goal of 340 crank HP is only 289 WHP. I simply want 330 crank and I'll hit it.

Trav's HR hit mid 280's and he spent top dollar. Read previous posts and look at past dyno results (the car is over a decade old, there isn't much mystery what the car will make). Full bolt-on, tuned, NA DE's don't produce overwhelming numbers. 250-270 is a reasonable range for a DE.
EDIT: I missed the "crank" indication in your OP. Regardless, when you're talking about HP, say what you want to make at the wheels; it's still a relatively useless number, but at least it's a somewhat useful indication of performance (vs crank any way).

First off, crank doesn't mean anything. Any talk of HP is WHP.
