Default Catalytic converter

Recently I had the engine code P0420 pop up. So i figured it was the catalytic converter since it sounds a little different, anyways I have found a set of stock cats fairly cheap. My question is will 05 cats fit on a 04? Thanks in advance

Long answer is 07-08 same... 03-06 same... But if they are used are they any better then the ones you have? You can get aftermarket high flow cats for pretty cheap.

Asked the guy why he was selling them, he told me he went with test pipes and that they were perfectly fine. All of the hfc I seen where a couple hundred dollars more than the ones he has for sell lol.

They are like $300-$400... And they are new and better flowing. But thats just me. I have a pair in a box in my basement in the event my oem ones decided to give up the good fight.

You convinced me to look into buying some new hfc lol, but before I do I want to see if it might be the o2 sensor. Do you know which one it might be that throws the engine code p0420? I believe its one on the passenger side but I'm not sure which one

Im not sure, have you gone under the car and looked at it? I dont know where you live but if you live in an area that uses salt or chemicals on the roads in the winter you might be in for a very bad time trying to get those 02 sensors out.

I had all ready tried google, the most I could find was that bank one is the passenger side and not which actual sensor it was that gave the code

It's the 2nd, downstream sensor. The 1st O2 sets your air/fuel mix. The 2nd evaluates condition of cat. The code you posted says, "Converter not operating...".
So, yes. Pass side lower O2.

Edit. The error is at pass side lower O2. The fault could be the sensor or the cat converter itself. Unless you have mods, sensors typically fail before cats. gl.
