Unhappy 350z test pipe raspy help!

I have a 2003 350z and my HKS cat back exhaust sounded amazing with the cats as it was aggressive and deep, now with my test pipes (NOT resonated or high flow) create a raspy note around 4k rpm and it shoot flames, but there has to be a cure to the rasp and the other threads had hi-flow or resonated test pipes, but I have normal test pipes. How can I fix it? I believe I have a y-pipe. Just google 350z HKS exhaust and that's my set up with the stainless kintex test pipes

Are you tuned? If you're shooting flames your car is running rich. To fix rasp go back to HFC's or try MotorDyne ART Pipes.

Not shooting very often, but occasionally when I floor it let it come down a little then hit it again. I don't mind the flames, I just don't like the rasp. I've read these following fixes for my setup
1. Motordyne X-Pipe Muffler
2. Wrapping TP's in header wrap (possibly)
3. Wielding heat shields or something (confused about this one)
So with the MD resonated test pipes, do you think it'll eliminate the raspiness?

Test pipes and knock-off HKS exhaust = rasp. Not sure there's too much you can do about it, except start over and spend money on the correct parts. I'd like to see a vid of those flames, though.

Solutions 2 & 3 don't make sense to me. But, I'm not an expert. I still recommend doing MotorDyne ART Pipes to reduce rasp. Test pipes = rasp.

Even with the motordyne art pipes you'll still have a "touch" of rasp. But then again I do have one of the loudest exhausts for the 350z soooooo it could just be me lol

I installed test pipes when i put in my Momentum Performance dual exhaust. Terrible sound and rasp that drove me crazy. That same night I went and ordered the ART pipes. Sounded 10000 times better. Still gives a touch but it is bearable.

There might / good chance of a low amount of rasp with ART pipes, but still WAY less than with regular test pipes.

Okay ordering the Motordyne ART Resonated TP's, which exhaust system sounds the best with them? I want an aggressive sound the way I did before the test pipes
