Default Crawford vs. Kinetix Plenum Shootout!

Test Car: 2004 Infiniti G35 coupe 6MT
Mileage: 1,900
Octane: 93 (1/4 tank of gas)
mods: 350Z tube, plenum, RT cats, Borla TD exhaust, grounding kit, TS ECU

Here are the results:

Crawford Plenum:

Peak HP: 253.91
Max torque: 248.13

Kinetix Plenum:

Peak HP: 253.81
Max torque: 249.97

Each plenum was dyno'd until it would not make anymore power. This happened to be on the 6th run for each.

Here is the dyno sheet:

Great info! Looks like a deadheat. Price may make the difference.

Finally! I never understood why one would make significanly more power than the other.

When did this take place? I thought only All_Bark has one of the "pre-production" plenum so far?

More info please.. Thanks.

With the Stock plenum and all of your other mods, lets see those numebers and graphs. I'm curious where you got the plenum from.

you guys can't see the graph? It's coming up for me. If you can't see it here is a direct link:

I was the G35 test subject. LOL. My plenum is the 1st production plenum off the line. These results are 100% independent. I paid for both the crawford and kinetix plenums and the dyno run cost was also paid 100% by me. I wanted to make this test as fair as I possibly could. I'll be glad to answer any questions if I can.

who cares about price, it appears another dead heat except that the kinetix doesnt require the trade of your stock plenum.

Im more concerned with appearance. sadly neither is particularly pretty the big logo and plastic material of the kinetix isnt exactly inspiring, and the crawford still has an "overly modified" appearance.

It would be funny if neither of them made power, and 253 is from his other mods.

Thanks for the independent test...I'm not dissapointed in the Crawford peak numbers as compared to the Kinetix but I am dissapointed in the fact that the Crawford doesnt have its 15-20 rwhp advantage at redline like they always claim...both plenums lose power up top.

Kinetix makes more power over the whole RPM range, but not by much. But every little bit helps

Sucks, guess compression is too low. Maybe if we can up the compression by a point or two, we can make some more power on the top end. But then we'll have to rework the block and or head, that won't be nice. Spending too much on car itself already. Anyone got money to play out there? How about building a high compression, high rev'ing (yeah right; V6) motor for us? Can I say dream?
