'16 370Z Nismo : TOMEI EXHAUST?!?!?
Sup peopleeeee. I'm new to the forum and I just recently purchased a '16 pear white nismo, 6 spd manual, with 5,000 miles. I've never been so in love. I've only had the car for about 2 1/2 weeks but im going to pull the trigger on a new mod within the next couple of weeks. Im not sure whether to go intake, or exhaust, but since I'm obsessed with a sexy sounding car, I think im going to go exhaust first. Ive made up my mind to go with a Tomei exhaust. The only downfall is, that it is a single exit, instead of dual exit. Upside is that it is full titanium.
Does anyone know whether I need to buy an additonal, Y, X, or H-pipe for the exhaust? And if so... which one should I go with. Doesn't Tomei already ship with a y-pipe?
Any thoughts on whether I'm making a good decision, and if I should go intake first? I'm open to suggestions. Thanks.

Have you heard the tomei in person? It is going to be extremely loud. i don't pay much attention to the singles but if my memory serves me correctly you will want to get a Y pipe as well. If you want to keep the sound closer to the unique vq would recommend motordyne or ARK.

First up, INTAKE (to me) is a waste of money on a 34. There are a bunch of intake kits out there and I find them way out of line pricewise for what amounts to suction sounds and much less effective filtration. Everyone that makes them for the Z33 also makes them in dual config for the HR/VHR. Ehhhhh. But, admittedly, I have no experience with them. My money goes into suspension and tires well before any of these gimmicks.
I looked at the Tomei Expreme for my '12 Z34N. For about two minutes. It's way L-O-U-D, just like the Expreme for Z33. No way I'd drive that on a regular basis, thanks.
It's sold as components. The Expreme muff by itself (with mid-resonator/pipe and pipe to rear muffler) and/or as a whole kit with their Y-pipe. Runs around $1600 for both components F&R; for probably a little power gain and a whole lotta noise.
Did I say it was L-O-U-D?
I opted for the Nissan Nismo S-Tune exhaust on my Z34N. And I actually searched out the S-Tune for my 33 based on the one on my 34. Sounds sweet and is configured exactly like the stock system (but bigger and straighter): Y-pipe to twin resonators/pipes to dual inlet single rear with dual out. I paid ~$1000 when I bought it along WITH the car. (Negotiated into final price) I think they run around $1500 or so.
You could also go a step further if that's not enough L-O-U-D for you (or you really want to try to extract mo'powuh). Go with the Nismo R-Tune. Lots of difference between the S-Tune and R-Tune. R-Tune doesn't "Y" into a single, it is a true dual system from the cats, all the way back to the rear tips. Two laterally mounted canisters look like stock from the rear. And it sounds really good; albeit too noisy for the street IMO. I would say you should count on a tune to get the most out of this system. (Interestingly, the R-Tune is usually less expensive than the S-Tune.)
There are other systems out there as well but I'm kind of a purist and couldn't give a c*ap if it was Ti. Not a big enough weight difference to make a difference to me and how I drive.
OK, finally, if all you're interested in is the sound, there are a number of axle backs for the 34. Essentially they're muff deletes for the final muff with tips. No clue how or if they do anything but make the car annoying but it's another option. They bolt right on to the stock pipes right where they enter the rear muffler.

No. Nismo exhaust is the same from the cats up to the rear muffler. The rear muff has slightly revised internals and large tips. Not an S-Tune - which is a Nissan "aftermarket" (read: hot rod) product. The S and R-tune ARE designed by Nismo but are different than what's on the stock Nismo cars.
