thanks for the review. I have been thinking about these Mods
after I get my exhaust.

You are running a stock exhaust?

I've got the UR pulley and Kinetix cats on the way. Glad to hear you liked the combo. The ECU has nothing to do with the crank pulley, and will not change over time to adapt to the pulley. The ECU compensates for air/fuel mixtures, and the pulley doesn't change this...

And yes I am still running stock exhaust. I am looking to get the kinetix cats next since it is such a good deal right now, or should I wait and pay the extra later and get exhaust next?
Why are you going to get the Kinetix cats if you just got the RT cats?

The ECU shouldn't have to adapt to the UR crank pulley. However, the ECU does adapt to your driving habits (i.e., aggressive driving vs babying it). Therefore, most people who get the crank pulley, tend to immediately drive their car aggressively afterwards to enjoy its benefits as well as testing the "gains". As a result, the ECU adapts to the aggressive driving/testing and the car becomes more lively. One should benefit from the pulley swap immediately.

having driven with these same mods for two days now, i can certainly feel the gains. it used to feel like the car would fall flat on its face after about 5K rpm (perhaps due to the exhaust restriction) but now it pulls to redline. as well, it is quicker off the line, and is now chirping my 275's.

i am a mod skeptic, but i will say that i am very happy with these mods as well. i have noticed the raspyness now, at around 4500 rpm, but it is pretty subtle. the sound at idle is excellent.

I would love to get the crank pulley but I'm worried it could cause some problems at very high RPM's (my redline is 7100 via the TS ECU) since the stock pulley has a dampener and the UR pulley does not. To me, the dampener is there for a reason even though no one has reported any problems with them. I know on race cars they install a heftier than stock dampener with aftermarket pulley's.

I have those two mods installed on my car as well. Before I installed the Plenum, the RT cats started making the dreaded civic fartcan noise at 3k rpms with the stock exhaust... but after i installed the plenum it deepened the sound out to sound pretty damned exotic.

How does the ECU adapt to driving styles on a manual transmission equipped vehicle? I thought that only automatics had the "adaptive" feature? Just curious.

Get some new runs in now that you have some mods... you should be running at least 104 traps now in good conditions.

I thought the VQ was internally balanced with no pulley dampener required.

would you mind posting a link or the source regarding the VQ being internally balanced and thus not requiring a harmonic balancer....thanks
