I really like the Gruppe-M but IMO its too expensive for unsure gains.

I've been thinking about the PopCharger myself...from what I've read so far, it sounds like an easy install. There's a new thread on it over at NEZC.org
Since the Z is my daily driver, I can't really afford to mod the heck out of it, but I think this would be simple enough for me to consider. I can't really argue with getting 7-10 extra horses for less than $200.

My car runs better with the JWT Popcharger...the idle remains so smooth, the roar above 4000 RPM is unreal, from 4,000 RPM on, the engine just seems to smooth out even more than stock....my MPG has gone up by 2. What else can you ask for for $100 shipped?
i think picking an intake is like other mods, it depends on what your looking for. each of the following intakes are grouped by overall design. the jwt popcharger is hands down the best bang for the buck. imho there arent any significant differences between the injen/aem/nismo with the exception of the water bypass on the nismo (and obvious price differences, also). then you have the gruppe m and k&n. they are slightly more aggressive designs, however the gruppe m is priced very high. the jwt provides the same or slightly lower gains than the injen/aem/nismo, but is also the cheapest. the k&n provides the same or slightly higher gains than the injen/aem/nismo and is priced relatively the same. and the gruppe m is well made/designed and provides the same gains or slightly higher than the injen/aem/nismo and k&n intakes (but of course there is the huge price obstacle).
injen hands down.
1. its a true CAI with its extension that goes to the bottom of your front bumper.
2. if you dont like that, you can always install in a short ram setup which if nothing else looks 100 times better then the stock intake.
3. the short ram setup sounds very very nice at high rpms.

Has anyone dynoed their vehicle? I am helping out a friend who recently purchased a 2004 Liquid Aluminum 350Z Performance. I have been leaning towards the Pop Charger.
The CAIs for the Spec Vs get higher gains due to pulse tuning of the longer intake tube. But since the Throttle body on the 350z is located at the very back of the engine bay it seems that the CAIs for the 350Z makes the air have a long way to travel?

Sorry to say, but I'd pay the extra 100 for the looks of the Ingen, even though the JWT makes the same power. I dropped 30 g's on the car, I'm not gonna simp on the intake.

. j/k. If that's the case then go for the Gruppe M intake, ram air, shiny carbon fiber and it's only around $600+ . Not a bad price for an intake. Why stop there, you can get it dipped in gold then have your name carved around it, put a few diamonds and rubies.
just messin' wit ya.Popcharger definately wins the bunch, tried and proven. Here's mine with DIY ram. https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....her+popcharger
I tried a lot of intakes and my favourite is the Injen as short ram,
especially with the vent in the front bumper.
It's the only setup where I can feel the car pull stronger at high rpms.
( I tired stock airbox, Injen cold air, Injen short ram, stock box with Injen piping and AEM CAI so far).

I got the Pop-Charger in December and installed in the below 20 degrees (with a lot of going insdie to warm up breaks) in about 1 hour. I took it for a spin and man the 3000-5000 range change was very noticable. I suspect all the intakes have a definite change in performance. I would go with the cheapest product since they all can give gains. Everyone has their favorite. Save your money and get the JWT and then get another mod. such as Cat Backs.
Do a lot of research as many of us have done, on all your mods.

the intake is not really something that is going to show up on a dyno...but the feeling on the road is prominent IMHO.
I am happy with mine (Gruppe M)- was very pricey yes, and the bang for the buck factor is not there, but it looks very nice, has perfect fit and finish, is not too showy, and has not given any problems of any kind, and definately improved the power from 4k upwards
