...can't stand the looks of the stock intake pipe.
Also the piping is not too hot, I've wrapped my Xerd headers with 30meters
of heat-resistant bandage.
I'd never put the JWT on my car. It looks so awful to me.

Its just plain rice to add "performance" parts because of looks and not functionality. Notice i said performance parts...not dress up parts....

I wouldn't add sth that I don't like.
I don't think the JWT produces more power than the Injen as short
ram.
I also have Nismo floor mats and shift **** and radiator cap
and oil cap - rice?

Hello, all. I'm new to the board. Where did you get the JWT for $100 shipped? What is the web address? Thanks.

If you read my post thoroughly you'd see that i said performance parts for looks only are rice. I dont recall that an oil cap, floor mats and shift **** are performance parts. Unless you are from the ricer school of "this sticker gives me 20HP" mentality.

Some people go to shows also, which is why I chose the Injen over the Popcharger. Both have open element filters which is were the horsepower increase comes from to begin with. I will say that the shorter intake pipe with a open element should give better throttle response than a longer intake pipe due to the available volume of air at tip in throttle. As far as the heat goes with a metal intake tube I disagree. The intake itself is aluminum and gets as hot or hotter than the metal tubes and air flows thru it? All turbochargers and superchargers use metal tubing and the air goes thru it? Lastly the air is moving not standing still.

If you are looking for the best bang for the money the Popcharger is a great buy. If you want looks any of the others will be fine. I will say that the big drawback of the Injen is the filter location. It is nice if it's not raining, but when it does rain it gets soaked. I have checked and no moisture has made it thru the intake tract , but I will probably move it to a short ram with a heat shield for the filter. Anyway thats my thoughts.
Thanks Mike

i ran the injen intake like a true CAI setup all last summer rain or shine. perfectly fine. BUT i did change it to a short ram setup for the winter. didnt want to take chance with snow, ice, and salt.

i have the next week off, putting all the summer mods back on (including the injen extension), plus a few new goodies. heh.

What's your problem man?
The Injen produced good power but is illegal in germany.
That's why I run the stock box. For show and track I put the
open filter in.
A big plastic bumper might be rice but a stock box with injen piping
isn't.
Even if so. If you call my car rice I'll smile and beat you on the track.

Take it easy MyZ4U2C and don't write such things.
I thought a lot about my mods.
The alu piping is for sure not a problem on my setup and
for sure it's no rice!
But it's funny to see how someone who's only mod is a popcharger
wants to tell me what makes sense and power.

Avalon Racing is currently offering the JWT Pop-charger for $110 shipped. Click on the View Sponser link at the top and you should find them in the list. You can also try the Vendor Forum.

I was checking out your DIY ram intake from the thread listed below. Holy SH*T, I can't believe you did that. That is pretty ghetto looking, I remember doing something like that on my Caviliar Z24 in High School. hehe But it does makes more power, you are right about that.

Name carved in with rubies, I like, I like.

Why stop there, you can get it dipped in gold then have your name carved around it, put a few diamonds and rubies. just messin' wit ya.
Popcharger definately wins the bunch, tried and proven. Here's mine with DIY ram. https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....her+popcharger

Injen. Where is all this proven hp at for jwt? Also the injen can be made to a shortram also.

Why spend 100-120 for a cone filter and a peice that makes the cone filter work?

I also agree that the JWT POPCharger is the ONE. However, IMO any intake change, or even if you retain the stock intake should be accompanied with the Crawford Plenum. The Crawford will be more able to take care of the added incoming air, and the front two cylinders will not run lean, as with the stock plenum.

i had injen intake on my car and replace to nismo.
only reason was..
i was afraid of water getting in to my engine with injen.
injen air filter is located right behine bumper airduct and there is no water sponge things (sorry what it calls?) in intake system.

however, nismo's airfilter placed b/w tire/bumper so seems more safter from water and it also had water protect thing in intake.

i'm happy with my nismo.

From what I've heard, if it will fit under the FI unit, it will do fine with the added pressure.

So do u think the best bet for me to change my injen to short ram? I love the look of it but i dont think its worth the stress over rain etc, so i was considering pop charger instead..now im thinkin ill just change it to short ram.
