I would like to congrads you Tim'sZ on the nice kill. But would the outcome of the race be different if the TA were to be manual?
When I lived down south I took my slightly modded LS1 corvette (auto) to the track many times and raced more z28's, SS's, WS6's and cobras than I can count on two hands. My only losses were to a cobra with a 100 shot and to a few SS's with drag radials. I ran between a 13.0 and a 13.3 pretty consistantly.
My point is if a stock 350Z can break into the 13's, then one with a cam, intake, exhaust, removed cats, and a good driver has a chance to beat a stock WS6.
Example: stock 350Z w/decent driver pulls ~13.8 to 13.9. I would guess that TimsZ could knock off about .3 at least with his mods, giving him a time around 13.4 to 13.5. I have seen many LS1's run slower than a 13.4. Including pontiacs, camaros, and corvettes.
LS1 Owners, get over yourselves, its not the end of the world if a 350Z beats you.
On the flip side, I have a video of my friend's Z28 running an 11.6 with only 325 rwhp.

Yes that was me... I can tell you all about "raping" Ls1's but in this forum I can't tell the story's w/o a video... So look foward to my next runs that will be videotape just for my Ls1 friends
Take care!

That's some intresting math...

at least .3
I suppose I could have made it easier for you by saying "exactly" .3976586 and not round up
. Besides, I'm bench racing here which is about the most inaccurate type of claims that can be possibly made.
It just makes me laugh to see the LS1 owners on this board get all defensive when someone says a 350Z beat a camaro or a WS6. It can very easily happen. The LS1 is probably the most inconsistent engine on the market for hp rating. There are factory beasts like the link I posted above, and there are complete duds that dyno in the 260's. There are some f-bodies that are sniffing 12's from the factory, and there are others who can't break into the 13's.

I am glad you guys have come to my rescue, I was getting all black eyed and bloodied over my video, I would have played it regardless of the outcome, it was meant for the sound. Thanks for covering my back. Of course some of these guys that posted negative have contacted me and told me they meant no offense so I guess it's all good now.
Its incredible how even with a video, people has trouble believing that a 350z CAN beat an LS1 or LT1 . There is always the argument that the LS1 will do this and that at the ¼ mile, but you forget that not always those times are made “as is”, some people ice the plenum, remove the front bars, remove the interiors, etc. they do “tricks” to improve their times.( I know, I had an LT1) On the street, that’s another story. Just today I was talking to my brother that I had beaten a 911 Porsche from a rolling start. I managed to pull 1.5 car lengths to him and my Z has only 1100 miles, (it has some mods, but still it is a motor that hasn’t fully broken in) and how if I told my kill story at the forum NOBODY would believe me, (I just did, go figure!) maybe with a video, but it seems that even with it, its not enough. The next time a Z owner says that it’s impossible to beat an LS1; at least you could do some mods and try it
Ok, so maybe there is a chance for me. Still not betting money on it though. Just hope he didnt happen to get one of those 12 second F-bodies. Think I might wait and see what he does on the track this spring before I bother.
Javi, nice kill.
webcarconnection, you must give me some tips!
