Default Injen exhaust review(angled tip)

got my injen exhaust used from a forum member.

installed it today, we estimate it took me and my dad about 3 hours to install, 45min of which was argueing how we'd lift it. we had a floor jack, factory jack, and 2 jack stands and it was like a trivia puzzle where what would go.

we'll start there. we began by jacking the factory jack up enough to fit the floor jack under. then the floor jack all the way up till we could get a jack stand under.

repeated for the other side, and then placed floor and factory in the jacking positions for safety.

then proceeded to push forcefully to be sure it was sturdy.

next we got out the 14mm wrench. this is the size for all the flange bolts in the exhaust. there are 2 per flange. there are 2 flanges connecting the Y to the cats,1 flange with the Y to the mid pipe, and 1 flange with mid pipe to muffler. 8 bolts total on 4 flanges. as you can see its a short wrench it took some pulling, but its nothing that cant be done.

what next eh? we thought we could get the midpipe out, and we ended up being correct though it was questionable. the midpipe has a rubber hanger on it, which I now definitly hate. but we pulled away from the muffler and the muffler away from the pipe and it came off. then we pulled back and got it off the Y. then only the doughnut remained, which we drenched in WD40 and cursed at till it was loose.

the Ypipe dropped half way when we pulled the midpipe off, so to complete that just pull it off the cats. done.

muffler... ahhh that muffler. 3 doughnuts in all. drenched them all, and my dad found some way to get them off using the hook end thing for the jack(the flat end). I dont know what his method was. I think he was just using it for leverage against something.

be careful though, as they come off, the mufflers gonna fall, and its heavy.

alright so its all gone now.

the injen install is a million times easier. started with the mid pipes. its rather nice that the center cross support thing holds the pipes up for you. so this really is a possible one man job.

next is the muffler portions, again, pretty simple, just get em in the doughnuts and you golden. gaskets, bolts, ect. done.

Final impressions. I have a hard time getting on the car, as I am not big on speeding, and past 4000 in 2nd Im speeding anywhere near my house. but anyway. in idle its got an awesome deep sound. not overly loud not certainly noticable.

revving, it sounds good... but dont be fooled, revving does NOT equal driving sound. and the sound clip is more or less worthless.

in 2nd at about 3000RPM, stap on the gas and BOOM, you hear it. this loud growl, NOT a fart can buzz, I mean a growl.

it is awesome, couldnt be happier.

also note I started it up with the exhaust off. oh how I wanted to leave it like that. even just revving... damn.it was unbeleivable. I can only imagine what itd be like with a load. you wouldnt get 4feet before a cop pulled you over thats for sure.

so finally I give it
out of 5.

never mentioned power, because I dont really know, it pulls hard, always did. if it pulls harder eh, maybe. my butt dyno isnt that sensitive I guess.

Maybe it is just the pic but, doesn't it look like the inner edge of the drivers side tire has a little excessive wear on it? The reason that I bring this up is that I noticed on my car that the contact patch was not even across the tire with more towards the inner edge.

Get it checked out man.

I did notice that tire issue. Im going to have them pulled off this week and swap on some new RA1s for the summer. next winter they will go back on but other sides.

I have TONS of camber, but as far as I know, you cant adjust the camber on the Z... can you? Id love to, I get like 245mm of the 275 tire on the ground. the outside is basicly untouched when driving straight.

I believe that the rear camber is adjustable but the more you take out, the more toe-in you will have.
