Sweet.. The Y - Pipe will bolt on to the OEM exhaust. It will give you 80% of the HP that a cat back exhaust would give you. It should be good for 5-6 HP

GROUP BUY!!!!!!!

It goes without saying that, flow wise, I think the Jic Y-pipe is the best of the breed out of all the Y-pipe's I've seen on this board. Mild bends, and a smooth entry into it's 80mm collector area. Only thing I dont' know is if it's flex section's are lined or have ugly corrugations. Yet,.........................

If you want the benefits of the Jic Y-pipe, it's important to realize hooking it's 80mm collector/flange up to the oem's 65mm mid pipe will create havoc to the exhaust flow at that point and negate what may be expensive stuff upstream. The Jic Y-pipe is ment to hook up to a 80mm system down stream. Here's what I mean, I happen to have a Y-collector that collect's to a 80mm pipe diameter with a 65mm flange welded to it. When you look inside of it you can plainly see about a 1/4" ridge directly in the flow path at the 80mm to 65mm transition. But, their is a easy solution if your bent on using the Jic Y-pipe on your oem system, or aftermarket system that use's a like 65mm mid pipe diameter, more in a little bit.

Look into the pipe in this pic, you can see the lip at the other end at the flange, 80mm to 65mm

Notice the collector diameter of 80mm

And the 65mm diameter of the flange.

Ok, your easy solution is to have a muffler shop splice in a smooth transition tube ($30 part + $5 for a 80mm flange) onto the end of your mid pipe. Here's a link to what I'm talking about.

Part # RD-250 would be perfect.

Not if, do. Get the Jic Y-pipe. Don't make me post pics of what the oem Y-pipe looks like under it's heat shields. Bad very very bad.

Oh, your trying to decide between the Y-pipe or the pleneum. Ok, well that's a tuff one. I got great gains from my Crawford pleneum. But then again, same thing with my header back exhaust system. Tuff choice, I'll give ya that.

If you add that converter then it would make it 2 inches longer right?? Then that will effect the rest of the exhaust. Or would you cut the 2 inches off the oem's mid pipe? Wait now that I think about it you would have to cut both the JIC an the OEM one in order for that piece to fit... Im not down with that.. Plus big to small is not what I want to do.... Well I know Performance nissan might put the JIC in with the Nismo exhaust as a package.... Bahhhhhh I was misinformed!!!

Well the idea would be that the transition would be spliced onto the end of the mid pipe that attaches to the the Y-pipe. You wouldn't want to splice anything onto the Jic Y-pipe, splice in downstream, into the oem system. Of course the transition part would make no sense for someone hooking up a 80mm/3" system downstream. The Nismo is 80mm, that would be perfect.

I got the Japtrix Y and Mid, and numeric results are in.

In a recent head-to-head dyno testing day, my simple Y and mid outperformed Stillen duals, at a much lower cost.

Japtrix Info :

Japtrix Y and Mid pipe

The Dyno results :

SFZCC Dyno Day

Fits perfect to the OEM cats and muffler. Easy bolt on. The guys at Japtrix installed it for me in 10 minutes or less.

Noise level is minimal. You get a raspy note at about 4500 rpm that sound very cool. I didn't want more noise, just some power.

Does the JIC bolt right up to the OEM sizing?

Yes, the Jic's 80mm collector flange will bolt up to the oem systems smaller 65mm flange. That is why I did the above post pointing out what will happen to the exhaust flow at that point.
