I used to go to meineke for my custom muffler work and other assorted work that I didnt have the tools to do. but Im sure that depends totally on the crew working there, I had a guy there that always did my work, and he did a great job. if you have a guy like that, go for it.
its a simple install. and most exhausts, maybe not borla... could be installed in an hour with a lift and airtools. your looking at ~60-70$ an hour for pure labor, figure conservativly 2hours for intake and exhaust, and 900$ for the 2 setups, under 1100 total. cats are 4 or 500$ I think, and installing the cats when youve got the exhaust already off would add about 10min to the install.

The guy said they would put in two high flow catalytic converters for another $900 with no installation cost.

Borla Exhaust $700 installed.
Injen Intake $300 installed.
Hi-Flow Cats $380-500.
With those thousand dollars your dealer is trying to jip you with, you can buy some top quality headers. i.e. Nismo or Crawford.

If you can't find the Borla exhaust for the cheaper price around your area... planet performance in CA have them on sell for $590.00. Thats the Borla true dual, not the other one. (Funny the true duel is cheaper that the reg. one) It cost me 26 bucks to have it delieverd to Houston, TX and another 75$ to have it installed.

How does the Borla TD sound on the Z compared with the Nismo, are they similar or totally different? A friend of mine just got the nismo installed, can't wait to hear it.
