crawford- seemed like a nice idea but strut bars are needed- (ones that work not the one crawfor offers it doesn't seem like a good design just a gimmic)
Hi,

Can I dispute this please?

Doug's personal car was totalled yet the engine bay survived intact. (I think they called the car "Baby" it was blue RIP.

Richard's Z has been hit 3 times with major front end damage leaving it undrivable, the engine bay and STB were untouched on all 3 hits, his car is out again and he is running it hard at Streets of Willows.

The Crawford STB does it's job!!! It's not a "gimmic."

Anyways,

I have to hand it to SSR for their great attitude through all of this. 7 thousands members on this board we have room for 3 plenums, although I am definately in the FI field.

As for people continually asking if the stock STB will fit, I have looked at all the pics and don't see how it possible could. If I am wrong correct me it just seems too tall for the STB. It has to be though.

All 3 plenums have their own strong points, it can only benefit the community to have more options.

I am still loving my Crawford, it's holding down my 9 PSI like a champ. Keep up the good work all of you manafacturers you have my support!

I agree with 12SecZ.

plenty of room for plenum developers here!

also - the Crawford strut is NOT a gimmick. I would even bet it is BETTER than the factory strut but it also means MORE $$$$ out the door and I have already spent WAY TOO MUCH!

I also like the way the factory strut looks OVER the crawford.

The only way I would pay $1200 is IF it replaced the upper and lower collectors along with the lower intake manifold. That and it would have to add a significant amount of power in a FI application.

ok, just got the latest news. wonderful wonderful news. if there are 10 + people interested, they will make it cast aluminum, which will cost only 6-7 bills a piece, which is damn close to crawford prices. but no plenum core exchange. no dynos or flow bench yet though.

It's hard to improve on perfection isn't it?

My plenum is perfect for FI.

Thumbs up

I'm not to sure if the Shoving CRAP to you statement was geared towards us, so I'll let that one pass. But our intake manifold is welded inside and out for ultimate flow, and carries a life-time manufacturers warranty.
Very well said.

I ran it both ways but unfortuntely I don't have numbers.

I broke it in with the stock plenum for 1200 miles (new engine) then switched to the Crawford for 600 miles then drove to LA to get flashed for another 400 miles.

I felt a difference and I'm sure it gives me a buffer as far as tuning and air flow but no numbers sorry.

I also know "it flet faster or better" doesn't hold much weight around here but I am veru in tune with my car and yes it made a difference.

That's my story and I am sticking to it. It just makes mechanical sense when you think about it.

For prove here is a pic of it stock though. Seldom seen
