Nismo exhaust or Injen SES?
i keep debating if i should take my Injen SES off, and install the Nismo???? i heard the nismo (with stock cats) at my dealer the other day, and it sounded serously weak (no offence) compared to my injen w/o cats. WAY to quiet for me! im sure the nismo w/o cats would come to life some though. has anyone heard both exhausts w/o cats "in person"? could you give me a comparison please? a friend of mine ended up buying the nismo equipped Z from the dealer!
if nothing else, ill get to hear his after he takes his cats out

the one i heard had JUST been installed. i mean i heard it the first time it was started with it on. they did the nismo intake as well. does the exhaust get any louder over time? if anything, i thought it got quieter? but i PROMISE the headers made a BIG difference in sound!! what headers were they running??
This is the "Jack" in Lexington mentioned above. After installing the Nismo exhaust, I had Doug @ CrawfordZ do my headers, cats & as of Friday, the performance plenum.
With just the Nismo exhaust, the tone became a lower, deeper growl - I loved it! It's funny, to some it's too soft...to some too loud - just goes to show difference of opinions. There was a difference however, especially at 4k+ RPM. At idle it sounded stock.
After the headers & cats were installed, the exhaust woke up - ha! I mean REALLY woke up & the sound now is pretty impressive (remember difference of opinions however). I would have to say it is loud - at idle, pretty tame, but when you get it on, the thing screams - it definitely lets you know something's been done to the exhaust - ha! After the plenum was installed Fri. I didn't notice any change with the sound at the rear, but the engine now has a difference sound to it - I can really hear the air being sucked in now - a sweet sound to me!
And after we removed the rubber winter floor mat that was unknowingly keeping the gas pedal from going to WOT by about 3/4" the Z really goes now - haha!! A fuuny story in itself.

I think NISMO exhaust rated the lowest net rwhp gains out of all aftermarket exhaust, injen was first then borla. I have borla cause it sounds nice and looks great and performs good. Just like the nismo exhaust only gives you a few more rwhp. Dosent really matter all aftermarket exhuast do virtually nothing untill you strap on some headers and Test pipes and F/I.........
