Default does the pop charger have a "sucking" sound?

i had an akimoto intake with a k and n filter on my civic (dodges tomatoes) 12 years ago.

that thing had the most irritating "sucking air" sound. i was thinking about getting the popcharger from performance because i can afford that mod (barely). if it has the same sound, however, i think i will pass.

can anyone tell me if it does?

thanks for any info. tried the search feature, but....

A whistle you can hear at WOT. I don't find it to be the same as Injen. Prefer it over Injen.

I too was worried about the sucking sound it might have before I bought mine. IMO it sounds great and I don't hear anything I don't like. It sort of complements the stock exhaust sound and together it's a touch louder but not a hissing or sucking sound at all. I like it—sounds powerful.

I had a civic too, yes, the Z does have a bit of a sucking sound and whistle, but it is totally different than a civic, at WOT I scare small children and old ladies

With the Civic, it is a constant irritating sucking sounds at idle. That is NOT how the popcharger sounds. At idle, it sounds identical to stock, but as stated, when you open it up...lookout...it sounds great! Also, I notice a small whistle when accelarting with partial throttle...that piece sounds cool too. Get one!

The suck and whistle are my favorite parts about the pop charger! Worth it for the sound alone.

The intake is loud, but not as loud as any intake I have herd on a civic/integra and so on.

it creates a ROAR from the engine bay and when you tap the throttle you hear a PSSSSSSSSSP sound...

its louder then other intakes ive had on my previous cars... and you hear more higher pitched sounds, since the filter is up in the engine bay

I'd buy the Pop Charger over any intake out there, regardless of price.

I'd have the Popcharger regardless of price as well.

well, if they cost the same, then i might consider the injen more. but the injen is like twice the price for the same and possibly less power, so the choice was easy.

also, all the positive testimonials for the pop charger also made the decision a lot easier. i love this forum.

I've heard the Z sounds like a "refined F1 car" with a pop charger... I don't know if this is accurate though
