I don't but they usually flow more air with the downside of flowing more dirt.

I was planning on getting the blitz filter to put on my Injen intake. But I don't think they sell just the filter, and I don't wanna buy a whole other intake system just for the filter. I dunno bout filter's performace, but it really looks good.

I have the blitz and it's awesome. Only comes as a filter. Not a whole setup like injen or aem. Kind of pricy, but the maintenence is great. no oil or cleaning solution to mess with. If you saw it you would go WOW. It's amazing how the metal mesh is throughout the filter. One other thing is that the metal tube of the injen and aem hold more heat than the factory tube. I think the blitz is well worth the cash.

I was going to try to use the blitz filter with the Injen short ram set up however the blitz filter was too small. Where can I get a Blitz filter to fit the Injen short ram tube?

like the Blitz?

I personally wouldnt... they do not filter out the microscopic particls that will build up in your intake manifold and throttle body...

Note also that the mesh on the top of the filter has smaller holes that the main filter.

PROS: Maintanence, Looks, Sound

CONS: Filtration Performance

Well the K&N and other foamed oil filters are having problems as well. Many people are having the oil from the filter run up the piping too...

I went through 2 throttle boddies on my contour svt because of oil from my open air filter. The oil made the throttle stick.

oh man. My throttle just got stuck on my S-10. I have a K&N you think the oil could have caused it? THink i should take it off and take a look? I guess it wouldn't hurt, i'll check it out tomorrow

The Blitz is just the filter. Where was it for $100-$115. That would be an awesome deal since they go for over $200.

APEXi makes a great dry filter. They have different sizes and adaptors that allow it to fit pretty much any standard short or full (CAI) set-up. I tried a number of different filters previously (AEM, K&N, Racing Akimoto, etc) and the APEXi was definitely the "cat's meow".

I think if I was to install an aftermarket "cone" filter, the APEXi unit would be the one. Right now I'm running the Blitz drop-in and so far so good. I like the fact that it flows well and it's dry. NO Pre-Oiled for me thank you.

On a side note, my friend has the Blitz SUS stainless mesh cone filter on his WRX and WOW, that thing competes with his Tanabe Racing Medallion for pure "sound quality" appeal.

Agree. One of our members recently posted a detailed test of a dozen filters. The filters with the best flow rates had the poorest filtering ability. Likewise those with superior filtering had the poorest flow rates. The results were as expected.
