Who uses metal air filters?
I was planning on getting the blitz filter to put on my Injen intake. But I don't think they sell just the filter, and I don't wanna buy a whole other intake system just for the filter. I dunno bout filter's performace, but it really looks good.
yeah.... my mate has one on his S15.... but yeah i dunno how good it is compared to the foam type.....! i heard u dont have to grease it, just wash it with soap and water!
i was gonna buy the HKS metal filter..... but instead boought a panel.... no defects for me!

I have the blitz and it's awesome. Only comes as a filter. Not a whole setup like injen or aem. Kind of pricy, but the maintenence is great. no oil or cleaning solution to mess with. If you saw it you would go WOW. It's amazing how the metal mesh is throughout the filter. One other thing is that the metal tube of the injen and aem hold more heat than the factory tube. I think the blitz is well worth the cash.

APEXi makes a great dry filter. They have different sizes and adaptors that allow it to fit pretty much any standard short or full (CAI) set-up. I tried a number of different filters previously (AEM, K&N, Racing Akimoto, etc) and the APEXi was definitely the "cat's meow".
I think if I was to install an aftermarket "cone" filter, the APEXi unit would be the one. Right now I'm running the Blitz drop-in and so far so good. I like the fact that it flows well and it's dry. NO Pre-Oiled for me thank you.
On a side note, my friend has the Blitz SUS stainless mesh cone filter on his WRX and WOW, that thing competes with his Tanabe Racing Medallion for pure "sound quality" appeal.
