Default Question About Y-pipe?

If you get a full catback exhaust system does it come with a Y-pipe already? It is a stupid question but from reading some posts on the forum, some people where talking about chaning there Y-pipe when they already have a full cat back system. If it does come with one, why would anyone want to change it and mess up the setup?

I think one of two things are going on.

1. Said Y-pipe may not be all that, new exhaust buyer ditches it, resells it, then buys the Y-pipe they feel is better.

2. I've seen exhaust systems sold as "cat-backs, when they are NOT cat back systems, just Y-pipe back systems. Such a system would of course require you to buy yourself a Y-pipe if you wanted to replace the oem one.
